keegansimyh
My teacher told us that we would be marked down if we used calculus on IAs or the exam. I find this really hard to believe, especially since the course companion uses calculus sometimes. Is this true? What can I do if it isn't? mechnight
I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to be marked down - as long as it is legible maths which makes sense, that is. Maybe check the guide, just to be sure (since it's the new syllabus), but I'm almost 100% sure it is perfectly okay. 1 Reply
ultimateone
You can't be possibly be marked down, as the criteria allows for any legible maths. But I think she meant that it'll be harder for you as it is more complex than other mathematical aspects like say, statistics or trig, so as a result you might get lower marks if you mess up. But if you manage to do well in it, then by all means you deserve the marks awarded! Reply
