par Posted June 15, 2015 Report Share Posted June 15, 2015 Hi everyone, I wish you all good luck on your exams. I did my grade11 biology HL exam a week ago and I managed to get a 2. I studied a lot but I still couldn't get a passing grade. A lot of people from our grade have the same problem since the beginning of the year since we are all having problems with our teachers (They are new to the ib and have no idea what they are teaching).I Studied and made my own notes using http://bioknowledgy.weebly.com/ as I really found their presentations helpful and I did most pastpapers from 2008-2013. Because I am doing well on the other 5 subjects I was given the chance to do a resit in Aug.Can anyone give me any tips on how they study for biology and how they manage to get a good grade? CriCri Posted June 15, 2015 Report Share Posted June 15, 2015 Some of my friends made songs to memorise biology... Maybe that could help you. But also, I would use the summer to catch up. I had this problem but with chemistry. So you basically have to revise topic by topic, and leave like three weeks to just do past questions and practice. I think that the more past papers you can do, the better. VivensAdInspirare Posted June 16, 2015 Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 IB Bioninja: ib.bioninja.com.au is a really useful site as suggested earlier, but also i-biology is really good aswell! - http://i-biology.net/ With Bio in order to do well you just have to constantly revise your notes ....Since the syllabus is so big try dividing up the topics and revise 1 every 2 weeks. Pink97 Posted June 16, 2015 Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 Get the IB Biology study guide (http://www.amazon.com/IB-Biology-Study-Guide-Diploma/dp/0198393512) - I have an extremely bad bio teacher who hasn't taught IB before too, I've self studied this entire year using the study guide and have managed to do extremely well in biology this year.
