YAJA
Hello everyone. I have received my IB results, and unfortunately, the only thing standing between me and the 45 score is the EE/TOK. I have scored 7s in all my subjects, but B/B in TOK/EE. I am 4 marks away from the A in each one. Is it likely that remarking works with these two subjects? And which one do you recommend that I remark? I just need an A in either to get the 3 total bonus marks and thus a 45. Thank you 1 Reply

I bet all the hard work was worth it when you saw your results I heard from my IB coordinator that if you ask for remarking of anything it can go both ways, but seeing that you're in the upper part of the grade boundaries its unlikely that you'll be bumped down a grade. That said, apparently you don't have to pay if your grade gets increased, you don't have to pay. If you're confident that either one will get increased, I'd say ask for remarks in both. If money isn't an issue, then you can do that as well in my opinion. Keep in mind though that a remark for the EE costs significantly more than a remark of any subject papers. Also, I would urge you to discuss this with your own IB coordinator, your ToK teacher and the teacher who supervised your EE. I really hope it works out well! Naz
If you were predicted an A on either of them id say definitely go for it since both EE and TOK are extremely subjective. I had a 9/10 on my TOK presentation and 8/10 predicted for my essay, somehow i got a B on it. My EE was honestly not that good and my supervisor hardly predicted me a B, but i ended up getting an A. You can never know what to expect from essay moderators Reply
Sylvette
It's not uncommon to go from a predicted B to a D in EE (I'm one them), so depending on your subject it can be highly subjective. For me, I wouldn't risk it as you might lose an extra mark if you got marked down to a C in either one, and it doesn't seem like you need a 45 for your uni offer. 44 is already an achievement in itself Reply

You do have to pay but you get your money back if your grade increases. So if funds are locked up one way or another, you can't pay for the remark. 2 Reply
ibprincess
its kind of pointless to remark ee, because in the marking process it's marked by two markers, they compare their marks and if there is a discrepancy in the mark the ee gets marked by a senior marker so the likeliness your mark will go up is small Reply

Thank you OH I KNOW THAT FEELING BRO I got B/B in TOK/EE, which was completely unexpected, as I put a lot of effort in it (perhaps even more than in some of my SLs ), so now I feel very depressed and disappointed (even meeting my Oxford offer can't cheer me up ), so going for a remark as well. My TOK is (sic!) 1 point away from an A, and my EE is 4 points away. I am going to remark both . Reply
Ann Vyshinsky
Guys, I have a very important question For TOK, is presentation plan remarked? This year it was internally assessed, and my plan was not sent, and it was downgraded because the marks our teacher gave our whole class were too damn high... 1 Reply
Marcondaum
If you are willing to pay, you should go for it. Even if it goes down to a C you will still have 2 extra points (B+C). Reply

I got my ib results and I got a C in EE but I am 2 points away from getting a B which will make me very happy. However, I wanted to ask you if I have more chances to achieve a B. And thank u for the future advice Reply

If getting a B in EE will help the overall result then go for it since you are on the upper boundary. Reply

However I got a C in TOK so it matters cause I have a chance to have one more point. I am going to talk the Monday with my supervisor.....guess she is surprised too. You are on the upper boundary so it's unlikely but still I heard someone got remarked down to C from B. Reply
