Reaction Mg with sulphuric acid - has anyone of you done it?

Hi guys

I am getting crazy trying to find literature values for the volume of gas released in the reaction between Mg and sulphuric acid. If any of you has found literature values for it, could you please send me the link??? I really can't find anything :(

If you don't have literature values but have done the experiment, it would be awesome if you can give me one value for volume of gas released, no matter what concentration it is (it would be better if it is close to 0.8M, 1.2M, 1.6M, 2.4M or 3.2M) - I really need something to compare my results with.

Thanks so much! It is going to be hard to find but I am very desperate :(

You can calculate the theoretical volume of gas produced by determining the limiting reactant in the reaction. By comparing the molar ratio of the limiting reactant and the hydrogen gas you can find the amount (in mol) of hydrogen gas produced. The molar volume of a gas at STP is 22.4 dm3 (or 22.7dm3 in the new syllabus). Using this you can change from mol to volume. This is your literature value at STP, however your result will be different because the conditions under which you did the experiment are not STP. You could compare the two volumes and explain the difference.
