ibprincess
I don't take history so this is just what i remember from when i took it like 3-4 years ago but a primary source would be like government documents from the time, interviews with those around the incident, maybe news coverage? ShootingStar16
You could use databases (such as Questia School, World History in Context etc.) and also check to see if you have access to libraries at the local university because university libraries have a lot of material, so you can definitely find something. Another thing is to try and just Google stuff as well. Sometimes, it pops up on a website. Reply
UncleChopChop
A quicker way may be to go to a good research library (eg your local university library) and find a credible academic book on the topic. They are often loaded with primary source references and serve as a good "index" of sources. Reply

theswizzlerbruh
Hello May! A primary source is usually a reliable source that are used by many scholars, and are deemed appropriate by the IB. Stuff such as wikipedia.com or encyclopedia.com should be discouraged. Try using websites such as the New york times website, or jstor.org . Those websites contain articles that could help you. However, Jstor.org will require you to pay a certain amount of money as subscription fees, as does the NYT website. If you live in any countries in Africa, then Jstor is free, but NYT is not. check them out! UncleChopChop
One other excellent source for treaties and legal historical documents (eg Versailles, Trianon, Hoßbach Memorandum, etc...) is the Avalon Project. http://avalon.law.yale.edu/ Reply
Diego Pilosof
It depends on your topic, in your case you could try to search maybe some article from the time, or something said by a leader of a country. The resolution taken by de L of N could also be heplful. Reply
