Magician
“The knower’s perspective is essential in the pursuit of knowledge.†To what extent do you agree? But what is "the knower's perspective" in the context of this essay title? Thanks in advance! 3 Reply
El :3
In the pursuit of knowledge, it is the knower to who seeks the information. Their perspective is how they interpret the knowledge - this can be influenced by culture, time, and/or place (just to list a few - consider other WOKs too). One can pursue knowledge on the basis of multiple perspectives - take World War 2 for example. From a historical perspective, there's lots of things to consider like Hitler's motives etc. From a scientific perspective, you can consider the development of the atomic bomb as a result of quest to make more and more terrifying weapons. From a social perspective, you can look at how families were torn apart, and the changing role of women. These are some of my examples, and this is merely my interpretation (I may of course be completely wrong! But I hope not). I hope I helped a bit 2 Reply
Magician
Thanks. So it can be said that the knower's perspective is the bias that influences the interpretation of knowledge? 3 Reply
El :3
I believe so, however don't forget to consider the circumstance where the knower has multiple perspectives, or has an open mind. Consider to what extent bias influences the knowledge we choose to accept/the knowledge we choose to seek 2 Reply
