DJackson
Hi, I know I'm thinking about this too early but I've been thinking a lot about subject choices. I want to go to college in the United States and I'm likely going to go for archaeology. I'm wondering what subject combo would best suit my needs or if US colleges have any sort of recommendations on these things. I'm also willing to take 4 HLs. I've basically already committed to HL Math, so there's no backing out there. My question is: will I be okay if I take SL English Lit? (lit is not exactly a pleasant walk in the park for me and I'd rather not take it at hl if I don't have to.) And since my school doesn't offer anthropology, I plan to take HL history. Is this a good idea? Finally, I really really really don't like bio, and since I don't want to be a biological anthropologist, would HL Chem be a good choice? (although i'm kind of interested in physics...) Thanks, and sorry for all the questions. Edited September 13, 2015 by DJackson 1 Reply

DJackson
That was a joke I did there. A little joke. Ha. Uh, That sounds good. Add French h/sl on there and it should be good. Thanks for the answer. If I had to theoretically choose between chem or physics which should I theoretically go for? Reply
Enoch
Chemistry HL is better than Physics HL, but i recommend talking two ib sciences as it allows you to pursue a broader career pathway Reply
Enoch
Also if you to want 4 HLs take physics HL aswell Reply
DJackson
Good point. The thing is, I wanted to do music in any capacity (deep personal interest) but perhaps I could see about tagging on a 7th subject or possibly do a self-study? I don't even know if it's at all possible in that class. Reply

DJackson
I'll talk to my coordinator about that. I think it would be really neat and more satisfying if I could pull it off. Reply
DJackson
I'd probably end up having to take something online, be it music or one of the sciences or whatever else, due to my school's tight scheduling. Whatever doesn't fit I'd probably end up having to take to the Internet. Reply

DJackson
That's great for you!! Must be pretty awesome. I'll have to ask sometime soon, and it'll probably go better now that I have a good plan. Thanks for your help! Reply
