Pls help! Can food have positive externalities?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

In a country that is in bad poverty, would food (agricultural commodities e.g. apples) have positive consumption externalities?

Because many people wouldn't have access to any food, if they consumed food, wouldn't productivity increase, disease prevalence decrease etc... having positive spillover benefits to society?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
