RebeccaG
I didn't get a chance to apply to the MYP and I was wondering even if I didn't do that program, could I still have a chance in the IB diploma program? Is there a way I could be a potential candidate? I'm also in the 10th grade. Reply
Jaysun
I didn't personally do MYP and I have a predicted 40+ after year 1. Most people who did MYP told me it was the greatest waste of time and didn't prepare them for DP whatsoever. If you can, take some accelerated courses or AP, or learn some things on your own and that'll probably be very handy for DP. 1 Reply
Oscarthecat3
Hi, I did IGCSE's before the IB, and, I did fine in the end! . You do not need to do MYP before the IB, honestly as Jaysun said, I think it's a waste of time. I did absolutely fine, moving from IGCSE to IB. Yes the IB was tough and all, but, I achieved still very well without the MYP. Therefor, I would say the MYP is not necessary in terms of achieving well in the IB. I think you'll be a fabulous candidate for the IB! Hope this reassures you . Reply
