CountingSeconds
Hey, I'm new to this website and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to study for my pre-ib exam? I'm also a little confused, because the school I hope to get into holds the Pre-IB exams in January instead of the apparently usual Nov. or May. Does anyone have any idea why? Thanks Reply
terribletouw
I don't think there are any official pre-ib exams? My school doesn't do any. So I doubt the time of year would make any difference. November and May are when the actual IB exams are held - November for the southern hemisphere and May for northern. katsooty
As in mock exams? They are pretty much to help you prepare for the real things and to see your strengths and what topics you need to work at. Reply

I'm not sure...but where I live you have to take a test and get a good score to get into the program. There are only a certain amount of spots, so that's pretty probably why. Do you have any tips on how I could study if I were to prepare for IB? Edited August 16, 2016 by CountingSeconds Reply

Sort of- it's more of a test to see who can get into the program or not since there are only a certain number of spots available. Reply
FractiousArrogance
Being honest, those exams aren't IB oriented most of the time and are mostly school based. A good tip though regarding what I did, just make sure you're familiar with you're grade mathematics and probably make sure your English skills are somewhat sharp. They're really just tests which you simply need to make sure that you score high on them. Reply
