Mused
Hello, I am using the first edition Haese and Harris which I believe is from 2004 or 2005. How has the syllabus changed since then, if at all? Thanks Reply
mac117
Yes, the syllabus had quite a few changes since 2005. I would advise you to find a more recent version of the book in order for it align with the syllabus. 1 Reply
Mused
Does anyone know how it has changed? Reply
IB`NOT`ez
The most recent Maths change was in 2014, for all maths including Studies, SL, and HL. For HL, you can refer to this syllabus guide to know what you need to know: https://fettes.com/downloads/1370268037-HL guide2.pdf 2 Reply
IB Math Helper
For SL: - Matrices have been dropped. - Rational Functions (ax+b)/(cx+d) properties (including limits to infinity and relationship to asymptotes) should be known in addition to reciprocal functions - Linear regression is now part of the curriculum. - Clarification on the definition of an outlier (1.5 standard deviations from the mean) - In statistics, effects of constant changes to data on the mean and the standard deviation - In calculus, you need to be able to do higher derivatives (3rd, 4th to nth derivative) - The Exploration has replaced the portfolio projects for the Internal Assessment.
