MathStudent
Hi! For my IA I wanted to do something involving floral design. (I am a little obsessed with flowers and a lot of my stuff is floral so I thought it would be a good personal interest to explore) I want to somehow create a floral arrangement mathematically but am a little stuck as to how to go about doing that. The forms of floral arrangements are based on geometric shapes and I was thinking of modeling them graphically and using that to create my own. Also, according to this website I found, spherical trigonometry is used but that website mostly showed that with pictures and not with explanations. (http://www.designsponge.com/2010/01/weeders-digest-you-do-the-math.html) another option I was considering was making a bouquet digitally using rose curves and then using the golden ratio to create an arrangement with them. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can do any of these or if this concept will work? Reply
