bigfeets
Hi, I am doing my physics IA on determining the thermal conductivity of a substance. I wanted to know if finding the thermal conductivity of which substance is easier, solid or a liquid. I have been researching this topic, but haven't been able to find an answer to that. Thank You. kw0573
If using a thermometer, liquid is usually easier since you can submerge the thermometer in there. If the solid is malleable such that you can fit it to cover the thermometer then that works too. If you are using a different method then it depends on your methodology. So in that case you should have the answer after you decide how feasible the method works on solids and liquids. Reply
