Extended Essay Acknowledgements - Where to Put

I am just about to hand in my final draft of the Extended Essay. I am not sure where should I put the Acknowledgement section. Should it be at the very beginning, before the Works Cited page, or in the appendix? My teacher said I should throw it into the Appendix and I guess if I don't it will be taken into the 4000 word count. Did your teacher tell this to you as well or just my teacher?

Typically acknowledgments go at the beginning or the end. Either way they won't be considered part of the 4000 word limit as they are completely optional.

Thanks IB_taking_over! By the way do you know if word count includes titles/headings and math formulas generated by Microsoft Word?

Titles and heading in the body of your essay, yes. 

Formulas and all that, I'm not sure. (I think they don't count, but I don't remember what the EE guide says)

How about figure captions, tables and table titles?

Now I am worried about my word count!!! lol

From the 2013 EE guide: "Graphs, figures, calculations, diagrams, formulas and equations are not included in the word count." 

So, I think, the figures captions don't count. The tables may or may not count, depending on if the content falls into the categories mentioned above.
