Although I have a missing great-grandad and some of my family have less chastely pale Northern skin than a Brit ought, so there's speculation that said missing individual was Mediterranean. However, as nobody who knew him is alive to ask, I guess I'll never know! My great-grandma kept pretty quiet on the subject.
