~vola
I have so many favorites >< but, uh, I guess right now Still Alive (the Portal end credits theme) is at the top of my list. If it had been up to me I wouldn't have chosen a song from a videogame to be "our song," but that's what dating a superior geek gets me. It's only "our song," really, because my boyfriend changed up the lyrics and wrote me a really sweet ballad. I carry the paper he wrote it on in my purse so I can take it out and read it if I'm sad. Sandwich
I swear I answered this yesterday but apparently not Anyway I have a lot of 'favourite' songs in that I keep coming back to them time and time again... but I think the one I come back to the most and which also never fails to grab me has got to be Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground by The White Stripes. Absolute, absolute favourite For me it's also one of those songs which reminds you of points in your life. Awesome guitar, awesome voice.LOL such a feel-good song, sweetnsimple. sweetnsimple786
Yes. It's a I-missed-my-childhood fave. Connects me to this poemAfter A While After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't always mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child and you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much so you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure you really are strong you really do have worth and you learn and you learn with every goodbye, you learn...© 1971 Veronica A.
