Dr. Polaris
We need to do a group 4 project, as all of you know. Our topic is "From the supermarket to the laboratory". Our group has a few ideas, but all of them, as said by our teacher, are "trash". Does anyone have any tips or advice? Reply
sweetnsimple786
What were your ideas? Maybe we can help improve on them, since we can't just give you a project. And what aspects of the sciences do you have to include? Are there any special requirements you need to meet? Reply
Dr. Polaris
Our ideas were1.)Things that are acidic and alkaline (We didn't know how to perfect it. Teacher said it wasn't too bad, but wayy too simple and vague if we went with this topic, we must refine it)2.)We wanted to do something with condoms, but don't know whatand I forgot the other 2and there are no reqs. sweetnsimple786
Hahaha okay condoms. How about their permeability with different factors. You know Sex Ed classes where the teacher's reminding kids that condoms don't always work. And guys often put them in their wallet in their back pocket, where it stays nice and warm as they sit down I think the condom idea has potential if your teacher is cool with it. Okay, so what about acidic and basic things? I thought of milk. I had some notion that it was acidic, but it's actually basic [or maybe it's the other way around...], so if you have heartburn you shouldn't drink milk...? We were talking about something like this a couple of years ago. Maybe you can look at the pH of different milks or other products and see when they actually do go bad and compare with expiration dates? Dr. Polaris
It turns out that the teacher is going to do a similar lab on the acidity and alkalinity of different products in the supermarket in the near future, so he said that we should do something else so we don't ace his lab I've found that the condom idea is actually going to be hard to do, as we have limited time. Tilia
Why not take the same product, but from different brands and see if they differ somehow? Such as see whether different lemonades have differing pH or finding how much suger yeast can consume or checking the dyes in some sweets. Dr. Polaris
Ah, OK< that's a good idea. I'll try and think on other ideas first so it's not copying, then make it more specific. Thanks,DP Reply
Tilia
I'm not sure if you could be accused of plagiarism in the group 4 project, since the experiment isn't assessed. Remember that the only things that matter are that you are motivated, collaborate well and evaluate your work well. Reply
