Which topics to study for Paper 2?

May 03, 2012 - 23:27

This is incredibly vague, but I was wondering if anyone had any list of the general topics one would need to study to score high. I really have no idea what to study and my teacher smartly says, "everything!" every time I ask her.

Specifically, I would like to look at topics that typically appear on paper 2s, because I know there are different questions under different categories. I'm just so confused/lost because there's no way I'll be able to memorize everything from my teacher's unorganized notes. Thanks!

Choosing your Options for Biology

Mar 09, 2012 - 05:21

I'm sure this has been answered numerous times, but I just can't find it in the search bar, so...

Are you allowed to choose your own options for the examination?

My teacher selected 2 that he assumed were the easiest, and while I may agree, I want to challenge myself, and perhaps even enjoy learning about something else (I don't know why, but human physiology is so interesting)!

If it is possible and I do end up studying, let's say, Option H, does the teacher/IB coordinator have to approve of it before the exam? It'd be such a hassle to do that, and I can only imagine the scene both of them would pull for my wanting to be just a bit different.

Choosing Your IWB Pages

Feb 26, 2012 - 03:44

I am confused by the rubric and previous examples that I've seen regarding IWB page selection for the Internal Assessment.

Does anyone have any concrete method or decision in how they chose their pages?

History EE's: which sourcing?

Oct 29, 2011 - 01:43

I couldn't find the answer within the stickies of the thread, but a guide I had read from my school suggested all History Extended Essays follow Chicago Style, yet I am finding many examples and other students following MLA style. Which is best for a History EE?

Contacting IBO

Oct 25, 2011 - 21:52

I made a thread a while ago (over a year) about the misconduct of my IB school, including the coordinator and my principal. I can't exactly find the link, but I recall a member suggesting I contact IB Headquarters. I searched through the IB Answers website for any questions related to my situation, but found nothing. Does anyone have any experience in contacting the IBO for times when their school and school district are very bureaucratic? I do not have major problems; I would just like to point out the inappropriate behavior performed by both my teachers and my coordinator and perhaps learn the best way to approach this as a candidate rather than a whiny teenager.
