About Me
I have been a physics and math teacher for 10 years, most recently at Copenhagen International School. I've since taken time off from teaching to pursue another graduate degree in Astrophysics. In December, I graduated from the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen - more specifically, the Dark Cosmology Centre (the name sounds ominous, I know!)
I love anything to do with the mountains, from climbing, skiing or just appreciating their beauty. I've gone on many trips, including a climb of Denali (Mt McKinley), which took 21 days in extremely cold temperatures, up to above 6000m. You can see pictures from Alaska and many more, including two trips to the Swiss Alps with students at: http://picasaweb.goo...om/kungfuscious
I'm now training for a huge mountain in China that I plan to climb in July, 2013. It's 7500m high, and it will take a month to climb. I'm planning on skiing from the summit, if I can make it up that high without extra oxygen. Now I just need to train and get into good shape. (I tell my wife that 'round is a shape'!)
In addition to loving teaching and the mountains, I run a tutoring company, as well as a an IB Revision course. This past Easter was our third year with the course, and we had 70 students from 7 different schools in Denmark and Sweden attend! We had a very big waiting list, so we will definitely be expanding even more next year.
I'm happy to help out students, and since I miss teaching so much, I've been visiting schools and doing presentations about the search for life on other planets, and another presentation about dark matter. I'm currently working on a huge series of videos that I'm going to put up for free for students who may benefit from seeing things explained online. Like my Quantum Mechanics videos on Youtube, I'm planning to do the same for every topic from Physics SL, Physics HL, and Math SL. The new website was launched recently, and it's called
http://www.studynova.com
There is only one of me though, and so the videos will be rolled out as they are completed. It is a process that will likely take me this school year as well as the next school year before it's all finished. For now, there are free videos in Math SL and Physics SL, as well as online revision courses in Math SL and Physics SL.
I'm making new videos every week, so it will be a job that keeps me busy for the next year. That, and the fact that my wife and I are expecting our first baby in July. I can't wait!
