-themed ties, he’s pretty amusing) loves reading them aloud as well, and asking people to explain passages related to more… mature themes in great detail. Poetry is pretty cool, we do a lot of it in Finnish (it’s our part 2 genre) but I tend to read more prose generally (another side effect of IB+UCAS, I don’t have any time to read anything fictional outside A1 Finnish and A2 English anymore!). I didn’t enjoy the Bell Jar that much for some reason although I ...

do like Plath’s poetry, I think the themes of her work are better suited for poetry and also very well supported by the kinds of stylistic devices she uses :D

Gonna have to do a bit of work on my HI this weekend though as my teacher wants us to get a start on it...

I spoke to a teacher yesterday and she said they were going to give us some info about UCAS on wednesday and help us sign up etc. What's the IBC? Political religion sounds interesting! :) My PS is going ok, another thing I have to work on this weekend! What's the TSR PS helper service? Is it something online?

Yeah I'm sure we will :D If I do fail...

*poetry though, including John Cooper Clarke the famous “punk-poet”, which was interesting!
I should be doing my HI on the political nature of the Cuban Revolution, and whether it was communist or not etc. That might change a little though, I’m going to sit down and have a proper look at it tomorrow. I remember you said yours was on Ancient Rome? What aspect of it?

*outside school though, it’s very strange. I’ll be 65 and retired before I know it. I was born in 1993 :)
Nice! So you got all 7s? Impressive :D Yeah my sister has a collection of her poetry that I’ve been trying to borrow and find the time to read. Sadly not much time for recreational reading at the moment! I went to a festival this summer and saw some cool live ...

I know I didn't realise it had got so mentally long! Ah ok, yeah I might submit mine when I finish it, a second opinion from someone would be good :)
Yeah, that's my main concern about a gap year... how I would fill it and how I would fund it! I don't want to be hanging around doing nothing for a year. I’m still finding it weird to think about any kind of life out...

What did they base your predicted grades on? Ah, I've just worked out that IBC might be IB Co-ordinator?
Yep for English teacher sounds pretty much like mine! He's an absolute legend :) I haven't had the chance to read much of Plath's poetry but the ones I did read I remember liking, I just really like her writing style :D We've been reasing Hughes in class t...

Yeah I'm sure we will :D If I do fail spectacularly though then it will be Gap Yah time for me also, which wouldn't be too bad as I'm young for my year anyway, but I'd rather get in somewhere first time!

Hi, My name is Maryam and this will be my last year of IB. I just joined this forum so I'm not really sure where to comment or where to ask people questions. I was reading some of your replies on the English World Lit 1 and was wondering if you would mind reading over my thesis statement and just giving me some feedback.
    Thank you,
    Maryam
