It comes down to the fact that IBS is a community and we want to encourage long term stays from our users. While the minimum requirement is 100 posts to VIP but we also look at the length of time you've been on the forum. We don't encourage people to get quickly get 100 posts for the sake of gaining VIP status because from experience, it means the person would just never show up again after they have access to the files. So when this does happen we can restrict your access until we feel that you would stick around with or without the VIP. Yes, we know that the download is one huge factor that bring in members but we want people to realise that is not what the VIP group is for. VIP isn't about getting the files, you have the subscription for that. This may sound personal (it is), but many VIP are hand-picked which is why out of 13700 members we only have ~200 VIPs.

So what I'm saying is, you need to prove to be a member of the community to be VIP. A member who is active in the beginning for the sake of VIP access and would become inactive after VIP is of little use to us. In a nutshell, we want to know you're here to stay (for a reasonable amount of time) before we VIP you fully.

If you need to rely on a substance to get through IB, you shouldn't have enrolled in the first place. I can safely say that I have never used caffeine, nicotine or any other substances to help me get through IB. All I needed was my friends and some time to myself.

IB-related, to do with sports, food or anything, no matter how random. Hopefully someone can answer it for you, and if even if no one can, we'll join you in contemplating the randomness of life's unanswered mysteries.


First question: How do they get football pitches to be marked out in different coloured grass (dark green, light green, dark green, etc.)?   Do they cut the grass in different directions? Do they comb the grass? Do they grow different grass species in different parts? This has always bothered me.

Another question: What does mean? I have never gotten this either, and I deserve a   for not knowing. But better late than never.

Anal sex can be, in fact, very pleasurable for the woman. The only problem is that it has to be done correctly, and there are a lot of things to take into account. This is the problem. Lots of guys think that all you have to do is insert the penis and that's it, and then they wonder why some women don't enjoy it. There are a lot of things to consider (which I will not go into detail unless I am asked, because I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable by unnecessarily explaining all the things which must be taken into account). Lots of guys just think that the only thing they need to worry about is adding enough lube, and because of this, lots of girls end up thinking that anal sex is uncomfortable or painful.

So, in the end: Yes, anal sex can be highly pleasurable for the woman, provided that the guy knows what he's doing, or if the woman knows enough about it to tell the guy what to do. No, it isn't illogical to want to have anal sex despite there being a vagina that can give pleasure as well. Pleasure can be achieved through the anus, and some people just like doing different things instead of using vaginal sex as their only form of pleasure, since anal sex provides a completely different feeling to vaginal sex, and therefore provides a completely different experience.

Once again, I'm not trying to change your mind and make you think that you should go ahead and have anal sex. I'm just trying to show that it is not an illogical or unpleasurable alternative, and that the discomfort which most women feel when having anal sex isn't an inherent characteristic of anal sex, but most of the times because the guy just doesn't know enough about what should be done to make the girl more comfortable.

I have been asked to choose a project topic and give a draft soon. Anybody with past project samples? Or give me suggestions pleeeeeeeeeeeease!

First of all, could you restructure the topic of this thread to represent what kind of an EE you are planning on doing. (And no, Biology EE is not a better topic, be specific!) Seeing that this is a forum for extended essays, there's not much point in creating a topic titled 'extended essay'.

One thing you should know about science EEs is that they should never be cross-scientific because IB very much dislikes such papers. Therefore, if you do something molecular, be sure to stick to biology and not go on about chemical properties of the thing you are investigating. Also, we can't give you a ready topic, but I would suggest you take a look at some of the numerous EE samples we have here on the site, they should give you an idea of where you should be going.

I thought I would contribute something to this It's really quite random, but I did enjoy writing it! I'm afraid I'm no good at Haikus. Or rhyming! So it's a bit blank when it comes to those things. Oh and it appears I nicked the title from Ted Hughes, although I must've done it quite subconsciously. One day I'd like to go back and edit it I think, so it's a bit less jerky in places, but all in all I'm quite proud of it.
