3. Before asking anything about format or requirements for the extended essay, we suggest you read the IB Extended Essay Guide first (which you can download from here).
4. Make your thread titles descriptive. At the minimum, mention the subject area and if you have one, the topic! For instance "History EE on Nazi Propaganda" is better than "EE help please". The people who know about history and nazi propaganda will click on the first thread and probably miss the second one. Help us to help you - give it an accurate title!

hey all, I'm halfway through my EE draft but have hit a few mental roadblocks. My question is 'How decisive was the Kokoda Track Campaign between July and November 1942 in halting the Japanese advancement in the Pacific War in World War II?' I have completed heavy research but am struggling to answer the question, as in, I don't know how to address the 'how decisive' aspect. I've spoken to my supervisor, but it's not helping me. They suggested discussing long and short-term impacts, but yeah, can't grasp how to do that. Any advice would be welcomed.

Hi. I'm working on my extended essay for English B Category 3 Literature, and I'm struggling to choose a book to analyze. Initially, I decided to write about 'Never Let Me Go' by Kazuo Ishiguro. However, since it's a dystopian novel, I'm unsure if it's a good choice. Many people suggest that analyzing a dystopian novel might not be ideal due to their overdone and classic nature. Nevertheless, 'Never Let Me Go' is not as popular as other dystopian novels like '1984' or 'Brave New World.' I'm still unsure. Im doing my extended essay in English cat 1 and my teacher has informed me that the only work cited that matters is my novel, and I can use websites to help with my research. I plan on putting those websites in my "works cited" at the end but do I also have to include them in my in text citations even if I dont use them in my essay??

Is it worth remarking an EE 3 points off an A? I've researched a bit and heard both sides, with some people saying that the marking really depends on the moderator vs there not much chance of the actual grade moving. I need an extra point to meet my uni offer and EE is the closest mark to a higher grade across everything but I am just not sure if it is worth it. Hello! My EE's subject is History, and I want to do it on the Philippines and its formalized education as introduced by Spanish and American colonizers. I am doing an EE in chemistry and I wanted to do it on electrochemical cells. My idea right now is to change the concentrations of the electrolyte solutions in the voltaic cell and seeing if its possible to use the electricity produced to power an electrolytic cell. Hello, I am a student currently struggling to select an extended essay topic. I would like to select a topic in one of the 3 subjects, namely Langlit, Math or physics. I am writing my EE in music, as I love the subject and I love music in general. I am wanting to talk about the musical, Hamilton, because it has so many elements that can be discussed about in its soundtrack album that consists of whooping 46 songs. on IBIS, it says that my extended essay is candidate submitted, and not submitted as it is stated on my TOK essay. I would like to clarify that I only shortened some quotes to fit the word count, but I changed this after completing the viva voce reflection (everything else is the same). I also did not submit this shortened, updated version to Managebac, only to the IBIS platform, and it still states that it is "candidate submitted". Does this mean that my essay cannot be authenticated due to this change? Am I in trouble? I would really like some feedback ASAP. thank you!

Firstly, I'm not actually doing philosophy as a subject in ib right now as my school unfortunately doesn't offer it, and I know that many people discourage doing an EE in it if you don't... But I'm fairly certain this is what I'll be doing, so please keep the criticism of that choice to a minimum. Hello, My EE is due soon but now I'm starting to doubt if my research question is too broad and appropriate for the opposing argument. I have two options. "To what extent is there a relationship between insecure attachment styles and emotional intelligence?". Hey guys, I wanted to write my EE on the applicability of economics on the real world, however, I don't know how to limit my idea, since there is no way I can talk about or examine the entirety of economic theory within an Extended Essay.
