Hey guys, please comment on my selections and their difficulty. HL History HL Economics HL Physics SL Maths SL English LangLit SL Ab Initio Spanish ------- I'm mainly just really worried about Higher Physics because everyone talks about how hard it is to even get a 6 in Physics and everything. I'm willing to work over summer though, if that would be advantageous at all.

Hi everyone, First post! I just finished the Pre-IB program at my school and I've decided to stick with IB next year. I'm hoping to challenge myself, as at my school we only have two streams: regular academic or full-out IB (there are no options to do partial IB for certificates!). It's a bit unfortunate because the step from academic to IB is quite large, with no in between options like AP as a bridge. Alongside this, the IB program we do have is organized into regimented streams that we are not allowed to change-- we have to pick a stream number out of the ~50 possibilities that have been premade, and they are not always ideal. For example, it is impossible to take…

Hi, I'm starting researching for my PP. In order to have a better idea of my audience, and what my product should include I made a short survey. Please answer the questions, it would really help me out, thank you https://www.esurveycreator.com/s/430c5b5

Hey guys, I am starting the IB diploma program on August 2016... My IB subjects so far are - Physics HL Chemistry HL Economics HL English SL Spanish SL Math SL For universities, I plan to go to an engineering school. I plan to study chemical engineering. My school won't let me take HL Maths, so does it put me on a huge disadvantage to not take SL maths? I plan to apply to Singapore Universities such as NUS or NTU. Please tell me if its possible to apply with these classes.

Hey everyone! The title is basically my question, but I'm going to expand because I think that isn't enough information. I'm a grade 10 student in BC, Canada. My school doesn't have MYP because it's a fairly new IB school, so I'm doing the regular BC education curriculum. Ever since high school started (grade 8) I've been getting decent grades; my grade 8 and 9 averages are both 86%+. However we just got our report cards for term 1 and my average dropped to 84.7%. I know why my average is so low; it's because the transition from grade 9 to 10 was kind of brutal. This is because I got all the teachers who are known all around school for being the hardest. I know what I nee…

Hi guys, I'm having trouble deciding on what sciences I should take next year (I'm pre-IB and in the IBDP) and most of my friends tell me to do all three HL IB sciences or at least HL Chemistry and Biology and have SL Physics but I'm not sure if I want to do that. As for a career choice, I'm still undecided which is why I feel like dropping a science might prevent me from potentially doing want I want in the future. On the other hand, I will suffer from course overload next semester so I'm not sure what to do. My question is should I take all IB sciences? If so should they all be HL or SL?

IB is nearing in really quickly. This week will be my last exam week for IGCSE .. I was wondering what sort of preparation can I make over the summer to better assist me into having a head-start, especially since I am going for 4 HLs. If you have any specific tips for my subjects, or any general advice, it would definitely help a ton! Btw, my subject combinations is this.. Biology - HL Chemistry - HL English A LAL - HL French B - HL Math - SL History - SL

Hi. I have recently finished my IGCSE Int'l Maths exams, and was wondering if gaining a good score (A/A*) in it, is a good enough parameter for choosing Math HL. It's also worth mentioning that I really like Maths, however it's an online (Pamoja) course. Moreover, would HL Maths be an overkill especially since I would be taking: Chemistry and Biology at HL? Any help would be appreciated

Hey I am starting the IB programme in a couple of months and, even though I literally scanned Google for tips on time management, I'd love to get advice from fellow students. Also, I'd appreciate any help on how to survive my classes, but especially Math HL. I'm taking: Math HL, Physics HL and German HL and Modern Greek and Literature SL, Economics SL and Biology SL. Greek was mandatory Thanks :))

Hey guys/girls, im currently in 10th grade and need help with my course selection for the next 2 years. My current course selection looks like this: HL: German A L&L Economics Physiks SL: Business & Management English A L&L Math Here is my issue... I heard that the economics syllabus is very hard and that our Eco teachers aren't that good. Furthermore I heard that B&M is basically a free 7 and US universities (where I prob wanna study) don't really see it as a good course. My idea is to change Eco HL to SL and B&M to CS HL. Hi! I am considering starting Pre-IB next year for 9th grade. I don't really know any of the "special" stuff about IB yet, but I do have one very big concern. There is a lot of talk that with IB/Pre-IB you have to give up your social life. Is this completely true? Will I have no time on weekends or for after school activities? Thanks!

Hi! So I'm starting IB next year, and I just need some help/advice on choosing my subjects. (Technically, I've already confirmed them, but I still have under a week to make adjustments.) My current choices are: HL Chem, Econ, Maths // SL English A Lit, Chinese A, and Music (though I am probably going to drop to HL Chinese B and take 4 HLs) However, I am now doubting whether I should swap SL Music with Biology. I am not sure what I'll be taking in university, however, I do know that I do not want to major in music. I'm leaning towards maybe the more "sciency" side, say, maybe Pharmacy or Chemical Engineering or Food Sciences. I only chose music as I have a g…

I'm looking at studying biochemistry/chemistry in Cambridge/UCL and I'm not sure whether to take Sl or hl maths because Sl math would be a (relatively) easy 7 for me and I'm not too sure about Hl maths. people keep on telling me that the good universities in uk really want Hl math but the website says that Sl math is acceptable but like 99% of NatSci's in Cambridge take Hl math. Tl;dr is math hl necessary to get an offer from Cambridge/UCL for Chemistry/Biochem/medicine??

Hey guys, I have pretty much decided on my subject choice (except for one subject but that is another thing). My question though is which options you people would advise. I will be taking 2 environmental sciences. Chemistry SL and Physics HL. Generally preferred choices for me would be those with a high amount of mathematics. So I'd like to know your experiences with options in either subject and which ones you could suggest. Much thanks!

Hello! I am currently in M5 and I need to choose my subjects soon. My goal is to get as many points as possible (I want to study International Relations) so what would you say is the easiest subject combination? I have got all 7/7 in all my subjects so I really don't know what I need to choose to get a 45 (approximately) in my IB. I want to get into an Ivy League university. Hi, I am currently an 11th grader and for next year I have to choose my HL's. I was wondering if anyone knows if taking Business HL and History HL is a lot of work and if I should replace business HL for Bio HL. I want to study business in college however, the history program is very good at my school and our teacher basically told us to do HL since the difference between SL and HL when it comes to grading is very small. Is choosing two level 3 subject HL's really complicated? Thank you

I am 75% sure that I would like to go into Architecture in the future and right now I am choosing my IB courses. I am choosing between Biology and Physics at SL level and I know that some schools require it but not all of them do. I want to take the one in which I am more likely to get a higher grade because I'm not too good at either. If Biology is necessarily easier then I will probably take it. My other choices are HL visual arts, language literature and economics and SL chinese and standard math.

Hey guys, so about a month ago I handed in my subject choices for the IB and there were this: HL: Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Geography SL: English L/L and German B Currently I'm studying for my IGCSEs and I've realised that I find Biology more interesting than Chemistry. I get 7s in all of the sciences so that doesn't make a huge difference. Right now I'm just kind of freaking out a bit because I feel like if I were to change from Chem to Bio I should probably ask to do so fairly soon. Another factor in all of this is that all of the 11th graders say HL Chem is insanely hard. But then again, I'm not great at memorising stuff... I don't know a…

Hi everyone, The current options I have submitted are: Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics HL LangLit, Economics, French SL However I am now considering removing Computer Science HL and replacing it with Chemistry HL. I was looking through the textbook for Chemistry and I found it to be quite interesting. But I also need to know whether it is absolutely required for Engineering? Hello everyone, I have turned in my subjects for IB after the summer, nearly finished MYP courses. So I have Math hl, Chem hl, fluent native lang b hl, phy sl, econ sl and eng. Hey all, I am (or was) a 10th grader in Pre-IB. I really love IB and everything about it and was fully willing to accept all the work that was coming in the following years. I was told this week that I was being removed because of a disciplinary infraction. I won't go into details but I technically broke the cheating section in the honor code. It was an action that took about 1 second, required no prior thinking, and has had huge repercussions. I would give a lot to go back and simply do nothing for that 1 second but that's not happening. I may be overreacting but this program meant a lot to me and I had plans for it. What I ask is if there is any way I can join the progr…

Hi everyone! I'm considering applying for medicine in the US or in England and I have a quite big problem. Besides that I want to take 7 subjects, I also don't really know if I should take Biology on Higher Level or not. I must stay that I'm not that passionate about biology in general, I'm quite good at memorasation, but my problem is that the teacher in our school is really, really bad.
