  1. Thanks everybody, still trying to make some arrangements to start something because a lot of things certainly need clarification, so please check back here every couple days
  2. Wow, it's so great to see several people interested in this project! I haven't really talked to anybody at my school about his yet, so let me talk to some teachers and my IB coordinator, see what they think about it. Keep an eye on this discussion and I'll have more info about this idea in a few days
  3. I'm not so sure where this is going, haha. That's a really good point. Right now I'm just trying to get opinions on this and decide whether or not i'm able to do this project. Also, interested in joining or watching?
  4. HAHAHHAHA Sounds like a good idea. I would love to watch it but i probably wont have time to really participate Good point. But if this does become a thing, you could post video responses in your own time if you wanted to be involved
  5. HAHAHHAHA Sounds like a good idea. I would love to watch it but i probably wont have time to really participate Yup. That's very true. I'm trying to get an average idea of how much time I'll have to put into this, since the first few weeks of school have been pretty laid back, before I decide on following through with it
  6. From my experience with this type of thing a weekly or even biweekly show is good enough to warrant initial attention and remain reasonably organised. You have to write the material for the programme, find a reasonable microphone and adjust audio for recording. It all really depends on the way you mean to organise this thing. Would you prefer a single host for whom a group of people write the programme? A single host who writes the programme for himself? Two hosts? Multiple hosts? A talk-show where one performs interviews of various people? No written programme, but rather a defined topic and on-the-spot discussion (very difficult, but can be immensely rewarding)? Do you follow it up with appropriate visual aid? Who does the audio editing? Who does the video editing? All of this requires quite a lot of thought and planning. What I envisioned it to be is that each person/ group of people has access to the youtube account and are responsible for posting their own video on their given day. For example, if you were a member you might post every single monday. The topics would be determined probably on the weekends through video chat if possible or through email. There would be a maximum of 5 members maybe to leave the weekends free, and minimum of 3. I'm not looking for professional quality videos, just something suffiecient enough o hear and see the person who is speaking. My ideas are based off of the structure that the fiveawesomegirls had on their collab channel. For anyone interested in how it would work out, heres a link to their channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/fiveawesomegirls/videos?sort=da&flow=grid&view=0 hopefully this clarifies some things, but if u have any more questions by all means ask them
  7. Thanks everyone for showing interest in this project. I think the hardest part will just be finding people to collab with, so if you have any friends who you think might be interested please run it by them or if you have any ideas as to how I could bring more attention to this, please let me know
  8. It doesn't have to be just you working on the videos. If you want, you can gather together a small group of IB students who might be interested on working on this. If there is an IB Film class that could work, or maybe just a few friends who happen to have a camera. Either way, I'm not looking for this to be pofessional, just fun. Maybe we can find a way to use the voice recorder in some creative way
  9. I really wish I could do IB music and IB chem SL. I'm taking IB Bio HL right now and I in place of those two desired subjects I take psychology. I 'm interested in psychology but I would much rather do music. My school doesn't offer it yet, though. As for chem, I need to take HL bio to fulfill the 3 HL requirement, and my schedule/ availability of classes doesn't allow me to take chem as my elective.
  10. I definitelt prefer real books to ebooks. I just enjoy the overall experience of having to book in my hands, turning the pages and being able to feel how far along the book I've read. And i love the smell of books . Plus i don't have to worry about it breaking if I drop it or spill water on it or worry about it losing battery.
  11. I'm not sure if we can use this as cas. I'm hoping we can but it's mostly discssion based, or at least primarily, so I'll have to talk to my IB counselor about it.

I just started too! It's actually my school's first year doing IB, so I'm kind of nervous, because we get to be guinea pigs. yay! I'm taking English HL, Spanish SL, Biology HL, Matematics SL, US History HL, and Psychology SL. How's the program coming along for you so far?
  13. I think we would have like a topic of the week, any topic that could be controversial of have different perspectives, or even a topic that is important to you, or any member of the collab. But I also think it would be good to have weeks where we just get to know each other too, or talk about the IB program itself and how we're coming along with it.
  14. I'm starting my first year of the IB diploma program, and I had this idea of starting a youtube collaboration channel (anyone familiar with the 5AG?) with other IB students from different countries. I think it's a great opportunity to connect with other students and obtain more worldly perspectives of...whatever we're perceiving. The thing is I don't want this to become a burden for any participants as we progress throughout the program. Is anybody out there interested in this or think this is a bad/good idea? Please let me know, I welcome pretty much any feedback that will help in make this decision, and I'll be glad to give more input on my ideas if that helps.
