    Exams grading

I feel that I did okay in almost all of the IB exams so faaar. But I was wondering how the grading goes. Are they too harsh in grading? I feel positive that I did well but I think I will be disappointed at the end. So, For those who did the IB before, what do u think? Like have you for example, felt that you will most definitely get a 7 in math studies and then received a 3? Or something of that sort? Or you felt that you were going to pass but you didn't? Please reply i'm so worried! Its better if I know now then too have high expectation and then get disappointed. I want to PASS (with good/okay grades). Thanks in advance and good luck for everyone taking the exams xo
  2. Hello guuuuuuuys! First of all, I want to wish everyone taking the IB May exams the best of luck. Second of all, I have a question: What are the grade boundaries for English Literature HL? Let us say FOR INSTANCE: I got a 10/25 for paper 1 (20%) and 15/25 for Paper 2 (25%) and 22/30 for the IOC AND IOP (30%) and an average mark for the written assignment (25%) How is that calculated? What will the outcome be; a 5 or a 6 or..? And for HL, what is the passing grade? Thaaanks :)x

    IB grading

Yes, unfortunately, if you get a 1 in any subject you will not receive your diploma. Oh alright! Hopefully I won't receive any 1's *finger crossing*. And I believe for every subject, each percentage grade has certain boundaries right? for example if its 19-30% is a 2?

    IB grading

So if it BELOW (God forbid) 28, I will receive the Diploma ONLY when: a. Numeric grades have been awarded in all six subjects registered for the IB diploma.b. All CAS requirements have been met.c. Grades A (highest) to E (lowest) have been awarded for both theory of knowledge and an extended essay, with a grade of at least D in one of them.d. There is no grade 1 in any subject.e. There is no grade 2 at higher level.f. There is no more than one grade 2 at standard level.g. Overall, there are no more than three grades 3 or below.h. At least 2 points have been gained on higher level subjects (candidates who register for four higher level subjects must gain at least 6 points at higher level).i. At least 9 points have been gained on standard level subjects (candidates who register for two standard level subjects must gain at least 6 points at standard level).j. The final award committee has not judged the candidate to be guilty of malpractice??????? So for example if I have a total of 24 BUT I have grade 1 in, mathematics lets say.. So I will not be awarded the IB diploma??
  6. Today I had my HL business mock and it was a past paper (NOV 2012): Does anyone remember anything? How bad/hard was it? I feel that I'm performing terribly in the mocks. The school seriously needed to figure out a better timing. Did you feel any difficulties in the mocks and how did you manage? Were they harder than the actual external exams or? Please ANY advice, recommendations of suggestions are welcome. Thank you sooo much:)x

    IB grading2

Hey. I'm a bit confused on the way IB grading works. For my exams on May 2013, if for example I scored a 5 on Business and 4 on English and a 6 for bio and etc... do they ADD all of these and that becomes my IB grade out of 42?? (how much do we need to pass? 24?) Also, for HL [and SL] subjects what is the minimum points for passing (note: my HL subjects are Business, English lit., and ITGS...)? THANKS IN ADVANCE :)x

    ITGS EE choosing topic

Well here's the thing: do you think you can collect legit data about Microsoft powerpoint and it's usage for educational purposes? Remember that the EE is 4000 words and you need a lot of analysis and a lot of research data (primary and preferably primary as well) If you think that the topic is interesting and you are confident you would be able to fully address it within 4000 words then GO FOR IT! I did mine on ITGS/RFID tags. Wish you all the best:)

OR
Using an appropriate tool (such as the Boston Consulting Group matrix),
indicate RDB’s product portfolio in the 21st century." I was going through all the possible questions that may be asked for Paper 1 B&M examination and I got stuck in this q. Pleaseeeeeee help!! Thank in advance

    TOK MODERATION

The TOK presentation is internally assessed as far as I know. But few samples get sent outside. However, the teacher marking paper should have "evidence" for each marking criteria and you also get to mark yourself with providing evidence as well. So I think you're fine hope that helped.

    ITGS I.A

Hello everyone! I was wondering if my ITGS IA product could be a brochure because when I read one of the PDF IB files it says that for Desktop Publishing it is "ideally 12 pages"... so that got me confused. Or should I just make a magazine? Any idea, suggestions or tips? Thanks soooo much in advance. My client's problem is that the customer base is limited so he wants more people to be aware of his business (which is a library). Let's say the IT solution or product is a magazine..... should I just use pictures of books and include descriptions there as a way to inform people about the library or wouldn't that be counted as advertisement or solving the client's problem?
