  1. Hi everyone! my brother is 3 marks away from a 6 in SL economics, and 9 from a 4. He thought he did really well, so he's considering requesting a remark. We got the mark breakdown: paper 1: 33 (scaled=26.4) which is a 6 paper 2: 18 (scaled=18) which is a 4 and his lowest internal assessment: 34 (scaled=15.1) which is a 6 do you think we should remark? Is there a real risk that his mark could go down to a 4? Thank you so much!!
  2. Hi! I am one mark away from a 7 in my hl chemistry and my teacher tells me I should remark, but I'm not sure I should. She gave me my components; I got a 63 in paper 2 and the 7 starts from a 66, and I got a 36 on paper 3 and the 7 starts from 38. I got a 7 on the practical work and I'm one mark away from a 7 in paper one, but these are not regraded. Overall, I got a 78 and the 7 starts from a 79. Do you think I should remark? Is it likely that I get raised to a 7? Thank you!!
  3. I answered the third title as well, (knowledge is nothing more than the systematic organisation of facts). It would be really interesting if they did that kind of statistics!
  4. I got my Results! Total: 40/45 Arabic A SL: 6 English B HL: 7 Economics SL: 6 Physics HL: 6 Chemistry HL: 6 Mathematics SL: 6 ToK: A EE: B Bilingual Diploma awarded I think I might remark maths and economics since I was predicted 7s and thought I did very well :/
  5. I did medical and EM waves and both were okay thank god! Paper 3 was a blessing after that godforsaken paper 2...
  6. TZ2 paper 1 and 2 were just hell! I found them much more difficult than most past papers I did before the test. I did questions 8 and 9 for section B, q9 had some weird mechanics agh...
  7. I thought paper 1 was really easy, the text about the Clark lady was annoying though. Paper 2 was okay, I did the article for section A and wrote a blog post for B. Was anyone else excited that the IB quoted Joss Whedon? omg
  8. I handed in first drafts for everything. Now I only need to wait for feedback
  9. Hey, Work on something you're good at. What unit do you prefer the most in your math syllabus? I enjoy doing probability, so my topic revolves around a casino game. If you need to check out sample topics, here's a link: http://ibmathsresources.com/2013/09/03/maths-ia-exploration-topics/ I had to change topics several times;I tried to do monopoly but it was too advanced, then something about music, then my teacher gave me a calculus topic but I found it too difficult to do on my own (I had to find a function to graph real life objects, now I'm still looking ahaha One more question... Does it have to have personal input to the issue? Or is it okay if it's just research?? Thank you! Oh, you gotta hurry up and come up with something. Personal input as in? If it's what I understand, i suppose you have to, since one of the criteria is about personal engagement to the IA or something like that. I'm sure if you do it on something you're interested in, you could possibly finish it easily I'm trying ahaha I meant like, do you have to test out a theory or add something to it? Or just do simple research?

  11. Hi! I feel really lost with the exploration and really so confused and I get the impression that my teachers are too :/ Does anyone have any tips? What makes a good topic? What's the most important aspects to include? anything? I have read the guide but it didn't help so much tbh Thanks!
  12. I personally wouldn't go for this one. Honestly, i don't have a valid reason and can't explain why, but it just doesn't look right. maybe there's so much too write since they aren't being specific so you probably can't sum it up in 750 words or something like that sorry if i confused you No, my teacher said the same thing. I posted another topic after this one. I went with the topic you advised me on there. Thanks..
  13. I think the structure is pretty flexible, but what I did for mine is that I had the real life situation and I developed a knowledge issue from it, and used several different examples (or smaller real life situations, if you want) to prove different arguments, then in the very end I applied it all to the original real life situation. The smaller examples do not necessarily need to be related to the original real life situation, but should be connected to the knowledge issue. Hope this helps. Good luck.
  14. This is for the international section, isn't it. So why don't you look for articles on protectionism, trade barriers. look for tariffs and quotas.. those are the simplest to work on and you can write good commentaries on them Thank you so much for replying! It is for the international trade section, forgot to mention that. Do you think this article (on protectionism) is good? http://www.manitobacooperator.ca/2013/11/20/trade-deal-to-hit-dairy-farmers-hard/ Thanks again
  15. Hey! I've been looking for a proper article for a while now and I'm getting pretty desperate... Do you think any of these are decent? http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/90778/8330238.html http://www.china.org.cn/business/2012-01/06/content_24338697.htm http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-12-10/the-latest-danger-in-ukraine-currency-crash Thank you so much xx
