  1. Hi guys, I am quite unfamiliar with university choices, so I just wanted to ask for some advice. I currently have a PG of 40/42 and a SAT score of 2160. I would most probably apply for a liberal arts degree in the US. I would like to aim for universities instead of colleges, and probably those that most people have heard of (sorry if i sound too snobbish). I have no particular preference for a "city" or "countryside" university, nor about how "traditional" or "non-traditional" the atmosphere is. From my superficial understanding, the universities all seem the same/ similar, so what universities would you suggest I look deeper into?
  2. OMGOMOGMOGMG thank you so much. I understand now thanksssssssss oh, but by the way, i my real life issue is whether surveillance technology should be increased, but my KI is much broader "How do we know that common good is more important than individual rights", then my claim cannot be "surveillance technology should be increased", but instead" common good is more important", and also I cannot support this claim by saying because history tells us that many cases of terrorist acts have been prevented by the technology, since this is too narrow right? But then how should i support the KI without specific evidence? (I hope u know what i mean)
  3. OMGOMOGMOGMG thank you so much. I understand now thanksssssssss
  4. Hey guys, From what I understand, the whole TOK presentation is about figuring out how you use WOK or AOK to "know" something, but then what does knowledge claim and counterclaims have to do with the knowledge issue and the whole presentation, and what claims am I supposed to make? Please help explain? Thanks
  5. Hi guys, Could you please take a minute to read over my outline for TOK presentation. I am quite unsure about point number 3 (which is the main part of my presentation ) Could you please give me more advice and suggestion for that part? Sorry for always bothering u guys TOK outline.docx
  6. Oh I see... And how about different perspectives? I have read somewhere that it is important to view the KI from different points of views. Does this have to do with the claims or something else?
  7. Thanks for your reply. What is a claim by the way, and how does it link to the knowledge issue (is it like an answer to the KI?) and how do i suddenly explain the AOKs and WOKs at the end (are they also answers to the KI?) ?
  8. hi I just wanted to ask how I am supposed to develop/ talk about my Knowledge issue. Should i talk about it using different WOK and AOK, or should i talk about it using claims and counterclaims/ Or should i use both, and how? Thanks
  9. Then which one would you suggest I use?
  10. hey guys I just want to confirm that my KI is a good one, cos I really want to start working on my presentation, and I can't start without making sure that it is good enough. So here it is "How do we receive our national education", in which I may branch out into discussing other KIs like "To what extent is emotion the main way for us to receive national education", "What role does language play in the reception and understanding of national history and education?/ How does language affect how national education is being implemented/national history is being received?" and also perhaps "How does reasoning act as a source of resistance for some people against national education? " What do you guys think about the main KI. I really need help for this, so please reply no matter what you think Thank so much
  11. Then is liberal arts college better then a liberal arts degree ?
  12. Thanks for your advice, but I just want to ask want is the difference between a liberal arts degree and going into liberal arts college?
  13. Hi Sandwich, Thanks so much for your useful comment. I would just like to ask further, whether my new KI "How do we receive our national education" is better and appropriate for the TOK presentation? My Sub knowledge issues include A. To what extent is emotion the main way for us to receive national education? B. What role does language play in the reception and understanding of national history and education?/ How does language affect how national education is being implemented/national history is being received? C. How does reasoning act as a source of resistance for some people against national education? Do you think that these are better and then I can develop a good TOk presentation from them? Thank you so much
