  1. I was wondering if anyone is doing an extended essay in bio without doing a lab. Do you have to actually perform an experiment? Or, can you strictly write based on previous research?
  2. what makes science the "end all be all"? what factors contribute to its validity? does science cover all forms of knowledge? (art, literature, etc.)
  3. IDK if you can self study. But from what you are saying, you may be able to go a little further into the subject. The way my school is set up we take IB Geography in one school year ( about 8 months).
  4. I've been putting off joining this thread and have decided if I just put up one reply, I won't be disappointed in myself for the rest of my existence. So... Banned because no one told me to reply sooner...LOSERS! TTYN
  5. Lol... those are some good ones Don't you feel nerdy?
  6. I'm unsure of my position in the whole religion debate. I've been raised in a very religious family, but I don't see what they see. All these miracles and gifts. Nothing tragic has happened in my life for me to believe miracles happen. My parents seem to try to force the thoughts on me subtly. They do things like make me go to church and pray over my food. But who am I doing these things for? They don't seem to benefit me in any way. And how does everyone know what happens after our life on earth? No human is capable of imagining a world without them being there without accidently putting themselves in the picture. If I dig up my grampa's corpse, even though he was a strong Christian, his body is still on earth. That's all I can say for now? Too-da-loo
  7. Give me some nerdy pick up lines... the nerdier the better!!
  8. I would recommend: --Ellie Goulding --The Lumineers --Imagine Dragons --Alabama Shakes --Phillip Phillips --30 Seconds to Mars --Neon Trees --One Republic --Gavin DeGraw ...that's just to name a few!!
  9. My username is pretty boring and simple. It's just my name. I have the creativity of a gnat.
  10. Murder is and always will be bad. It is not a human right to kill someone. In my opinion, even those of the armed forces (military) are wrong for killing the people they kill. Unless the death was a COMPLETE accident with no intentions of death being the outcome, it is not concidered murder.
  11. Well, I start. The IB DP next year also. I have quite a few IB senior friends who have started the exams recently and they are hell. I'm not trying to scare you away but IB is meant to be challenging. You're not even expected to pass. Getting a 58% is considered genius. As long as you're willing to be in a long term relationship with your life for two years to get ahead of the world, you should be just fine.
  12. You know you're in IB when, you can no longer send short texts. (You have to spell out EVERY word.)
  13. Dude that's so mucked up. That almost happened to me. I tried so hard to get into one of the two IB schools in my area, only to get put on the waiting list. Just try to "do' IB without "doing" IB. You can still do the service hours, you can still put some effort in your admissions essays senior year, and you can still get into a great university. By the sounds of it you're a very dedicated person; I doubt you will let this phase you. That's all I can say. Good luck!
  14. 1. What is your real name? Armani 2. Where are you from? The US 3. How did you find out about IB Survival? Random web surfing 4. What made you register on IB Survival? My friend and I were pretty nervous about the whole IB curriculum. When I found this site, I took a look around and thought this was a nice tool for us to refer to in a time of need. 5. When did you (approximately) register here? Feb. 26 (yesterday) 6. What is your favourite IB subject? Geography; I'm pretty sure it's only because of my teacher though! 7. When are you graduating? May 2015 8. What are your plans for university? Badger!! University of Wisconsin- Madison 9. What are your free-time hobbies? Random web surfing 10. If you could change one thing on IB Survival, what would it be? Nothing; so far so good!
  15. You won't necessarily have a lower score because you live in the U.S., it will just be a lot harder to gather the information. As far as your facts go, you need to somehow say or explain how it relates to what you are talking about. You can't just throw in a statistic and expect the reader to know or assume why it's there and how it's relevant to your topic. Hope that helps. Good luck!
