  1. I finished my EE wayyy before the deadline. My CAS reflections were completely accurate and true. I'm not procrastinating while I'm on IB survival.
  2. Yup, it's definitely too late to switch. But perhaps I could take additional lessons after IB, if I get into med school, just so that I can catch up. Although I doubt that I would want to study after I finish my exams but I'll see anyways. Thank you so much!
  3. Maths SL will be alright for US, and I think that it's worth making the swap if you can do better in SL.
  4. Creativity is interpreted broadly to include a wide range of arts activities as well as the creativity students demonstrate in designing and implementing service projects. Action can include not only participation in individual and team sports but also taking part in expeditions and in local or international projects. Service encompasses a host of community and social service activities. Some examples include helping children with special needs, visiting hospitals and working with refugees or homeless people. Those points above are taken from the official IB website. Your tutoring would count as creativity and service. It is definitely not action!
  5. Seek advice and help from your teachers- I'm sure they would be happy to help you. Practice sufficiently, and don't worry because most people will only develop this habit over time, through the 2 years of IB. You're not the only one, and you will gradually learn and get the hang of it.
  6. I don't think it counts for CAS, but if you plan on applying for medicine or a health science for university, it would be an excellent thing to talk about in your personal statement/ application essay.
  7. "To what extent has the internet had an effect on the US music industry?" For this research question, I agree with the above posts about narrowing down to one particular music label/company, which has readily available data. Investigate something more "economic", because your topic is too vague. As in, "effect"- what kind of effect? Profit? Employment? Marginal revenue? "To what extent has the internet had an effect on (insert a specific area here, e.g. profit) the (insert specific name) music label?" This is just a suggestion, though.
  8. I'm not entirely sure if this is helpful, but since public goods would come under the chapter of market failure, you can talk about rivalry and excludability- refer to this section in your textbook. However, I would suggest that you speak to your supervisor. Your flow seems alright to me, though. Good luck!
  9. Movie tickets- different prices on certain days and at certain timings. You could investigate PED through surveys, and look at the determinants of PED. That data can be used to perhaps predict the highest possible price at which total revenue would still be maximum. Also, you could consider MC and MR curves. Otherwise, international schools- fees and number of places. You could look at PED, perfect competition, YED, etc.
  10. It's better to start a new section on a new page- it's neater. and yes, you can underline/italicise/bolden any words whenever needed.
  11. In this research question, you have 2 independant variables- waist circumference and BMI. I think you should choose one out of these two. If you know how you are going to collect data for this research question, then it should be alright there is definitely bio theory in IB syllabus which you can use to explain your results. Good luck!
  12. I'm applying for medicine in the UK, and I take HL chem and SL bio. Although all the universities I'm applying to do not require HL bio and are okay with SL bio, do you think that they would favour HL bio over SL bio?
