  2. Hello, i have a test this tuesday and i want more math sl practice. Does anyone have the math sl may 2015 papers and markschemes. we can trade? i have economics 2015 papers and markschemes as well as chemistry HL
  3. overall its good but i recommend going more in depth in the case studies since this is a long essay question, you can talk about the design (independent or repeated measure) and the sampling type and the nature of the experiment then more in depth analyse the relation of the results to the question. also my teacher showed us an ib psychology site that hes subscribed to that is written by the author of an ib psychology book (the oxford one) , and the author said on his site that for example since your talking about the effect of the environment and you mentioned the rat case study, you can indirectly throw in or relate one of the BLOA such as that rates are 90% similar to humans thus this case studys results can also be applied on humans.
  4. my teacher went to an ib psychology workshop in lithuania and he said that they told him that years are not necessary
  5. i take economics HL and math SL and to me its really easy. there are four students in my economics HL class that take math studies and they are doing fine, i would say they might get 6 or 5 but not 7 since they kind of find the math part difficult
  6. hello all, i started working on my TOK essay, since my teacher wants a first draft in 10 days (october 15). now i wrote an introduction, but i want some one to proof read it and tell me what needs improvement in it, since my TOK teacher refused to do that and hes not that good or that reliable anyways (hes new) im doing the first prescribed topic. “In gaining knowledge, each area of knowledge uses a network of ways of knowing.†Discuss this statement with reference to two areas of knowledge.“In gaining knowledge, each area of knowledge uses a network of ways of knowing.†Discuss this statement with reference to two areas of knowledge. my areas of knowledge are art and history, and my ways of knowing are emotion and sense perception if any one can help, please direct message me on here. thanks
  7. hello, as the title suggests which is the easiest to write about in paper two since you are given different types of writing. in my opinion poetry is easiest, but my annoying english teacher chose drama for the whole class. can i write on a topic other than the class like choose poetry in the official exam instead of drama?

  9. Hello, I'm currently in IB diploma year 2. I take English A SL, Arabic BHL , chemistry HL, psychology SL, economics HL, and math SL. I do really good on all my subjects especially psychology, except economics HL I do bad at it! And I think the reason to that is that I don't just think that the teacher is bad , I HATE the subject itself and what we take. I was think to switching to visual arts HL from economics because I'm so sick of it and the teacher. If I switch it's going to be self study because my school doesn't offer it yet and I'm in year 2 IB so it will be limited time. But art is what I really love and am passionate about it. I'm also really talented in painting and drawing and I'm also very knowledgeable about artists and art movements and techniques (to some extent). I won locally last year in an arts competition and I got a good place in an international art competition last year. Do you think it is sensible and good for me to switch or am I going to take a really bad dessision ? I used to also take art in pre IB
  10. hello guys, i do the may 2016 exams and my dream is to go to the university of melbourne. now my brother got accepted to it last year because his predicted was a 42 and he ended up getting 41 but he went to canada instead. anyways my predicted isnt out yet but im sure its gonna be between 33-35 depending on what my math SL teacher will give mewithout the bonus point and im sure i will get 2 points bonus for my extended. i also got a 7 in ielts. i want to study broadcast journalism as an international undergrad student at the university of melbourne and their entry requirement is a 31 and ielts 6.5 would i have a good chance of getting accepted or not? are australian universities specifically melbourne picky and competitive? oh and i will be applying mid year because of the time difference.( yes i can apply as a mid year student in certain majors without finishing first semester) i take English A SL literature Arabic BHL psychology SL math SL Economics HL Chemistry HL EE in Arabic BHL thank you
  11. each year they get more complicated. anyways, im really interested in the second and last topics. but im most likely going to write about the second one since im a psychology student and we have discussed evolution quit a lot, and it does actually make sense to say that knowledge does develop according to the principles of natural selection. my TOK teacher said to stay away from number 6 though as its really vague and can be misunderstood. about the second topic, my teacher said that it means in his perspective that mainstream knowledge is most likely to develop as its the strongest known, while other forms of knowledge that aren't as popular might fade. however, i kinda understood it in a different way. i thought of it more of like as a person develops so does knowledge in order to cope with new needs and according to the principles of natural selection. like for example in the future the earth might become really polluted and people would need new needs in order to cope with that situation so specific knowledge in the area of knowledge natural sciences needs to develop specifically in physics and environmental studies in order to convey peoples new needs in solving pollution. thus the knowledge for natural sciences develops according to the principles of natural selection as its strongly needed, and other forms of knowledge in other areas of knowledge might be less needed so they might fade and be replaced. i took natural selection here as in the meaning of this example: if there are animals with long legs and animals with short legs that need to run away from predators in order to survive, the ones with long legs are the ones that will survive as they are the stronger, thus soon there wont be many or any animals with short legs as they couldn't survive. thus when those animals reproduce only long legged animals will be born. so i need opinions, is what im saying really far away from the second topic or should i just stick to it not what my teacher said????
  12. 13. In the new syllabus there is only one option and I'm taking biochemistry. Anyways I actually regret taking chemistry in the first place I wish I took bio
  14. Hello all, I take chemistry HL and I need a topic for my chemistry IA new syllabus. I have suggested two ideas for my supervisor but he said they are not good. He said that the expire meant should deal with a broad topic and have qualitative data( the one with calculations) he emphasized on the point of the experiment having calculations. And he said it should relate in someway to daily life, it's good to do about food, water , cosmetics, detergins.... Any suggestions for topics???? The two topics he refused and said we're not good are: 1. The effect of temperature on the acidity of lemons 2. Something dealing with zinc half life
