  1. Hi Everyone, I was just wondering what geographic diagrams you would include in an essay question as I never really find the need draw any. Thanks in advance
  2. Okay, I get where you are coming from, but I am a bit confused on how to make the numbers "meaningful". Do you mean doing something like sleep is from 1 < x < 2? Thanks
  3. Okay thank you! Just to clarify quickly, what do you mean by "quantify effectively"
  4. Yep I definitely will do that Do you have an possible expansions on this topic as first I am going to try and model it just by eye, then try to find a curve of best fit. Then I can determine the time periods where the lightest sleep occurs & therefore the best times to wake up. But I feel like I need some more maths involved, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  5. Hi Everyone, So I had the idea for my maths IA to model my sleep cycle (an example is shown in the picture) to determine the average length of my individual cycle & try and determine the best points to wake/sleep. Any feedback/expansions on the topic would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  6. I'm taking SL Maths, and I was looking at doing something like this: http://thesportsquotient.com/tennis/2016/9/14/statistical-modeling-of-atp-singles-matches-part-i Do you think this sort of approach would work? Thanks for the quick reply
  7. Hi Everyone, For my Maths IA do you think that looking at some of the different predictive models explored used in tennis (e.g. O'Malley etc.) & applying them to past tournaments would be a feasible IA topic. I would then compare them based on accuracy and ease of use? Thanks in advance
  8. Hi Everyone, Just a quick question on whether it is fine to just go into one AOK in depth or if it is better to explore at least 2 in the TOK presentation?? Thanks in advance!
  9. Hi Everyone, For my maths IA I was considering looking at projectile motion and modelling a tennis serve, to see how changing different variables will affect this. Do you think this could be a possible topic with enough math involved? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated Thanks,
  10. Hi Everyone! I am currently in the process of coming up with my maths IA topic and have recently been looking at the various applications of Bayes' Theorem. One of these applications is about filtering spam mail, by analysing common words that appear in them. I was wondering looking if looking further into Bayesian Spam filtering and possibly applying it to my own mailbox would be possible? I'm not really sure if this is feasible or not, but any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  11. Hi Everyone I just wanted to clarify whether the IB is fine with using the terms MEDC and LEDC, when referring to general trends or stating the patterns seen on a map, because I thought I read somewhere that they did not like people using them?? If so, what is their preferred term? Bit of a random question but just thought I'd check! Thanks in advance

  13. Hey Everyone, Just wanted to check whether we are required to know the Haber and Contact processes for the new IB Chem syllabus Thanks!
  14. Hi Everyone, So I'm about halfway into my first year of IB and am a bit concerned about Japanese at the moment. So far, our teacher has not given us a textbook for IB Japanese and we have just been doing random print outs vaguely based off the syllabus dot points. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good Japanese textbook designed for the IB/ notes/ any study guides or other resources (not kanji stuff). I have tried to find stuff online but so far it has not been promising. Anything would be helpful Thanks
  15. I thought that was only in regard to History extended essays?
