  1. more details on these books would be very appreciated if you dont mind lol. i dont know what H&H is.
  2. I was pleasantly surprised by papers 1 and 2! Though I noticed that there were quite many trick-questions in P1 - I think they might bring my grade down a bit. I did manage to spot a few of them: there was that one about the conditions of thermal equilibrium where many answered ''the same temperature'' when in fact the right answer was that they should be in contact with each other. I did Section B1. Knew like half of the questions, which was really good for me, since I'm aiming at a 4. But isn't the point of thermal equilibrium that they are at the same temperature? Can anyone confirm the anser to this question? that's what i thought since there is no net thermal energy loss??? argh i screwed that up BIG time. i have basically failed physics.
  3. Hey, So Maths Paper 3 is on the 20th and i was wondering if anyone taking the statistics option had any notes or anything that could help me in revision....please???? Much appreciated!
  4. same, i really hate my teacher for choosing this seriously. NO ONE in my class understands it and we never had time to do practice papers. i am screwed basically, if i manage to get a 4 overall i will be very VERY lucky!
  5. i did the prose and messed up with a lot of my terminology!!! i called hyphens dashes . but i talked about characterisation as in the way juliet wrote revealed both her and rob's character and i analysed how she did this using the literary features and the styles she adopted in her letter ...do that make sense?

  7. i do computer science too! i loved both papers! but i got the stupid binary tree in paper 1 wrong, i just want to curl up in a hole and die.
  8. I was thinking (yes this may be a long shot so please dont blow my head off) but does anyone know of a website that puts the graphs all in one place? I think it would be very useful to lots of people.... thanks. ps. if not i might try scanning all the graphs from my course companion over the xmas holidays, putting it on word and uploading it on here as i would still need them for myself anyway. but if i do that *must* it be only available to VIPers?
  9. Hi, I'm doing my world lit essay at the moment and im comparing the use of narrative voice in two novels i won't mention because i doubt anyone will have read them. My question is how do i structure my essay? How do i compare and contrast narrative voice? I am SO rubbish at english so i would really appreciate some help. Thanks.
  10. Yeah i got about 1000 words in had a look at how to write such algorithms and thought - i can't do this! So i gave up =D. I did exactly that this time that's where i got the "Future developments that are currently experimental but beginning to look possible" But i was going more for of Ludic Computing... I saw a talk about how they are developing software to make paintings through users entering the basic specs they want like art type/ brush stroke type etc... I emailed the prof. who gave the talk and asked for a copy of the presentation so from it i could do more research. And yeah the word analyse is getting on my nerves too but i thought i would analyse how they could make the software easier to use because when we tried it out during the talk you had to go through about 50 different settings before the program could make the painting and that was as you could imagine a MASSIVE deterrent to using the (what i thought of it) amazing software. Then i was thinking i would analyse why my suggestions wouldn't be so practical. Keep up the good work! (i thought i'd give you a bit of support there)
  11. I have taken your advice into account thanks. I just have to start again it looks like.... preferably something i could "ANALYSE"... If i were to analyse a relatively new field in computer science and "future developments within the field that are currently experimental but beginning to look possible" how would i go about this? I mean how would i be expected to structure the essay, just so i know i'll have all my bases covered =) thanks again!
  12. Hi, I am about to start writing my extended essay but i need help on my research topic: Is LZW Compression More Efficient Than Huffman Compression? I wanted to outline the compression and decompression process then in the conclusion summarise which is faster. I would have liked to include an actual test by building an algorithm but unfortunately the coding would be too complex and long. So do you think this is enough? Or should i change the title a little bit? Maybe i could compare three compression techniques? Thanks in advance to all those that reply.
