  1. Hello everyone! Recently decided to completely scrap my old extended essay since i was not going to get any higher than a C on it.. decided to write a new one in relation to the new ghostbusters movie, want to analyse perhaps how it may be perceived as a feminist message or perhaps how men and women are pictured.. but i am not sure how to form a research question to fit all criterias, could anyone please help ? would be greatly appreciated
  2. the workbook is good if youve got spare time.. doesnt really give in depth knowledge but gives you a vague idea and can make you confident for th eams, please check out my last post about extended essay, desperate for opinion!:)
  3. thats easy, just list a few of the learning outcomes, grab your cas handbook and find some that seem fitting, if youve never doen modelling before its a creative act already. please check out my post too! desperate for help
  4. sure it look good but that would be suicide in my opinion, id say only take 4 highers if your chosen uni requires certain subjects in higher, otherwise you are probably wasting your time much like a pretty woman applying makeup for 2 hours to mae her eyes pop out a tad more, sure looks good, but not quite worth it. please check out my recent post! need help too
  5. Hello, about to write my english A extended essay category 3, here is my brief outline, would love your opinion if it seems ok: Research question: To what extent has the role of mlae bodybuilding in popular culture changed since its golden era of the late 70´s until toda? intro: why bodybuilding important to discuss+why important to me+thesis= bodybuilding has become maintream body: A- bodybuilding in Film= how bodybuilders began getting real roles rather than just stand in tough guys+ examples, how that developed+examples of movies B- bodybuilding in literature(magazines) how bb and fittness magazines changed, look at words used in different magazines+how bulging muscle became fashionable c- how competitive bodybuilding became mainstresm and availa le to public on tv, different opinions from different times listed conclusion: bodybuilding not simply available to one group, mainstream+ new ideal picture of ultra masculin man do you think this is too vague? what else could i include?? thank you soo much for helping!
  6. the word text, in relation to cat 3 can relate to things other than written texts. It also includes things such as pictures, movies etc. I doubt you are solely alanysing 2 texts, you should include numerous types of sources, youll be fine and besides, if you are unsure, just google
  7. I am writing it in English A Language and Literature Higher Level. Thanks for replying!
  8. Hello there, Summer holidays have started and i am about to start on my extended essay, want to get it out of the way. Me an my English A teacher both agreed on the research question: "To what extent has the view of bodybuilding in popular culture changed since its golden era of the late 70s until today?" My problem is, firstly: i am unsure whether or not this research question is well formed for the subject. Secondly, although i have found countless sources on the topic, i am having difficulties narrowing down the topic. How could i limit myself? What areas should i concentrate on and, only expect an extremely vague answer here, what is the best way to structure it? Thank you in advance for your help!
  9. Depends on the teacher, but if you showed that you improved and you made a good impression on the teacher, you neednt worry, for sure you will get the higher grade.
  10. perhaps not the answer you are looking for, but when i am worried about my predicted grades, i approah my teachers. They are there to help me, not to dictate. That way, you might even get higher grades than planned by explainign how hard you worked. by talking to teachers ive gotten better grades in atleast 2 subjects every year.
  11. Although i do not take Chem at all, i made the daring choice to take History HL where i am alone aswell. Not sure how your school runs, but at mine, the thing that helped me the most to not dread every lesson in this subject was to create great relations with my teacher. Since you also go to a small school i bet in time, if your teacher is nice, youll even see him/her as a friend by the end of ib. Also, never forget to do your work, links to having good relations to your teacher since he/she is solely counting on you to get good grades and no one else. In the beginning i was very worried too but now i consider myself blessed since i dont need to sit in a class with 20 other sutudents who all have differnet thought processes to me. My teacher can focus on me and me alone. Make your teacher your friend, remove the "professional gap". Hope it works out for you!+good luck
