  1. Oh so they don't use turnitin? But what you're talking about is written plagiarism, like the text part? have you heard anything about a visual software? That checks for visual work? and they don't contact you before the diploma gets released? I thought they did! Also, if I submitted my work in early April, do they would've checked it/contacted me if anything was up by now?
  2. hey thanks for the reply! Could you elaborate on this? I didn't understand: "He said he only ever saw a plagiarism report for the CS" - you mean he only say a kid plagiarising for the CS? for the written part or what? How long has he been an examiner for? "They must contact you if anything does show up" - do they contact you as soon as they find out? or they wait until the diploma is released? "The IB guide states that there is a special "hearing" for plagiarism (would check that again, not 100% sure), especially for dubious cases/subjects like the arts" - don't understand this at all? what is a hearing? thanks a million!!!!
  3. I mean if I submitted some of my stuff in late March and early April, I would've already been contacted if they have caught me plagiarising, what do you think?
  4. Are you sure? Can't they check for plagiarism after you take your exams? Because I assume they can mark your paper anytime between now and July.
  5. Are you sure of that? Are you an apart student?
  6. The thing is, I've cited every single thing on both my process portfolio and comparative study, I've cited every single piece. I've have like 25 MLA sources for each of the two projects. So if they see that the requirements have been met, would they even be checking? Plus, the teacher signs off your art as authorised, no? The things I'm worried about is on the last few slides of my process portfolio. When you look it up, it shows up on random websites. But if they don't look, it shouldn't be a problem. I was just wondering how they check? do you think they have a special software? I submitted my work on April 9th. Do you think it should've been marked already?
  7. Why are you so sure? Please provide some of your reasons. I am extremely worried.
  8. I see. What about the others? Like the Process Portfolio for Art? Does just one examiner look at one work? Or is it numerous people?
  9. Hello, When does the IB start grading stuff that you've submitted to IBIS, like the Extended Essay, TOK, IB Visual Arts material, and your English Written Assignment? etc. Does this happen before the exams are over? Like, are they marking everything now? In addition, if you, let's say get caught plagiarising on any of the above, do you get contacted? Or do you just fail your diploma? I'm pretty sure they contact you before your diploma is out to justify. Correct? Regards
  10. Do they do reverse google search though? Do you think they have time?
  11. Why do you think they don't have time? What if they do, what would they use? I'm pretty sure they will do something about it if it's suspicious. Don't you think?
  12. How do they check for visual plagiarism though? to find out whether the art work is or is not yours?
  13. Hello, I was wondering how does the IB check for plagiarism in the Visual Arts course (for the visual content, like photos and images). I take Visual Arts HL Photography, and I am just worried that some of my content might show up online because I tend to publish stuff on Tumblr and such. My friends reblog my content and it's a heavy chain of reblog-repost action. Do you think I'll fail my diploma? It has been getting to me lately. If caught, they do contact you first, correct? I mean, you must be given a chance to explain yourself after all. Someone help out a sister! I can't even focus on my exams...haha
