  1. Hey there Canadian universities only give a conditional acceptance based on predicted grades. They actually do need your final points when making a decision. They will usually tell you how many points you need to get in order to be accepted and once you reach those points, that's when they give you a final acceptance. That was how it was with my anyway! Hope I helped
  2. Hey there I agree with Sandwich. Do a subject which you think you're mostly good at and will score higher. If you think that it's Biology HL, then do it. Personally, I would choose Biology. It's far more easier to handle and study for although there's a lot of content. My friends who did Chemistry complained all the time and most of them didn't get their diplomas cause they failed chemistry. Also, as Sandwich said, look up university requirements for the major you want to pursue and decided what subject to take accordingly. Good luck
  3. Hey there I agree. You should do it in Business as you seem to be leaning more towards it. Just try narrowing down the question until it seems more business-like. Are you currently taking business as a subject?
  4. It shouldn't be part of the word count. You can just add it to the appendices and just refer to it whenever you need or have to mention it in your IA.

  7. Hey there! Well, if i remember correctly, the word count for HL is 2000 words and SL 1500. You have to write up a research proposal, executive summary (abstract), carry out primary research and find some secondary research and integrate what you find in these researches into your IA. After that, you must have some qualitative and quantitative analysis. There's also a method section. results section and discussion where you answer your RQ or advise the the business on what possible action they could take. I hope that made sense

    Bio HL or eco HL?

If you're prepared for full memorization and are able to cope with a lot of content and detail, i would choose Biology HL. Also as previous posters have said, if you're looking into medicine, then Bio HL is the way to go. Also, as Sandwich said, if you want, you could switch B&M for Economics. I did B&M HL and it's quite the same Biology HL. A lot of memorization and content to study. Economics is much more easier as compared to Business (or so all my friends who took Econ said).
  9. Hey there! I see you're a new member! Welcome to IBS Answering your question,i haven't read the book that you're referring to but it doesn't matter whether we think it's a good novel to do an EE on. At the end of the day it's YOU who has to pick a book that you're really comfortable with and are able to write an EE on. You have to be interested in it if you want to write those 4000 words. Also, i'm going to assume that you're doing the EE in English. I would consider doing it on 2 novels rather than one because EE's that are written using one novel usually don't score that well. Good luck!
  10. Well now they choose a new pope. All the cardinals around the world will gather in Rome and lock themselves in a chapel of some sort and will take hours debating on the next suitable candidate as pope. Once it's decided, they signal their decision by releasing white smoke from the chimney of the chapel they're in then bam! New pope. That's all there is to it. It's not really a big deal as people make it out to be. They'll all meet up in March to decide on who the next pope should be!

  12. Don't procrastinate.. But just try to stick to deadlines. Have good time management (this may help you out ). Enjoy the subjects that you're going to take. Good luck!
  13. There really isn't a thing like 'easy combination'. All the subjects taken at IB are difficult in their own way. English and B&M are definitely not easy.
