  1. How can you show that there is too little or not enough inflation in an economy with a Keynesian diagram? Say, for example, that a government wanted to have a 3% inflation rate, but currently has only a 0.5% inflation rate. How would you illustrate the initial problem (the 0.5% inflation rate) in a Keynesian diagram?
  2. Say you have a Keynesian diagram showing a recessionary gap where actual output is less than potential output, and aggregate demand is on the left of the full employment level of output (Yfe). If AD increases and shifts to the right, but does not reach the full employment level of output, and the price level (PL) increases, and the new AD curve is still on the left side of Yfe, would the increase in PL be called 'inflation'? How do you know whether there is spare capacity in an economy? When reading an article, how do you know whether aggregate demand is in the spare capacity section? Can AD be somewhere in the middle - in between completely spare capacity and full capacity? What are the characteristics of this section? Why are prices and wages sticky/inflexible? Can they be upwardly sticky/inflexible?
  3. Hello, I am looking for the online version of the Mathematics for the IB Diploma Standard Level published by Cambridge University Press. Does anyone have a google drive link to it? Thanks!
  4. I'm taking Biology SL and we're kind of rushing through the syllabus right now, so by next year, we can revise again with the teacher. I'm not really confident with how I'm progressing with Biology as it has never been a subject of interest for me. Currently, it's the breaks and I want to focus on Biology and Languages as much as possible. My friend gave me an Oxford Study Guide for Biology, a summarized version for me to study, saying it's really helpful. So should I just get another notebook for Biology just for studying from only the Guide Book? Any inputs are welcome
  5. SOoooo I being open here is the IB always this hard. I'm a year 1 and I'm 2 months into school. So far I am doing terrible in all of my classes except Mandarin SL. Can anyone else relate to the first few months being rough annnnnnndddd how do I get out of this bad grade slump because I've NEVER gotten the kind of grades I'm getting right now, like ever, in my life. It gets better right? Because if yes, how did ya'll do it??
  6. Right now, I'm in English LangLit HL and have the option to drop it to SL cuz I already have 3 other HL subjects. However, the sole reason why I'm hesitating is because of the more time we get during exams. I feel as if the extra hour lets me write MUCH MORE and go more in depth in my analysis that I would be able to in SL. What do you guys think?

  8. Is finding the derivative of trigonometric/circular functions, like the sine and cosine functions, part of the Math SL syllabus? Is this the level of Math SL or is it more advanced? I'm thinking of doing this in my calculations for my IA. Would it work?

  10. Hi, I need to write a written assignment for the external assessment which is the 1500 word literary essay on a work studied in part1. I'm writing my essay on Death and the Maiden by Ariel Dorfman. My guiding question for the essay is "How does Dorfman create conflict between Paulina & Gerardo through the use of dramatic dialogue and how is it resolved?" I plan to constrain it to act 1 scene 1 while linking it to other parts of the play. Do you think that this is an appropriate topic? And I'm not sure about the structure of the essay. What do I start writing with? Please help ASAP!! Thanks
  11. Hello Can anyone tell me how big the gap between chem HL&SL and econ HL&SL are? I'm currently taking math, chem, physics HL & english langlit, mandarin B, econ SL. Would dropping chem from HL to SL and switching econ SL to HL reduce the workload? I already feel quite overwhelmed by the amount of work from math&physics HL
  12. My HL's are Math and Physics, and my SL's are mandarin and lang& lit Math and physics will be difficult but I'm hoping to pull out 6's, however should which should I take at HL Psych or Econ. I know they're both considered easier but which one would be the easiest with my other HL classes Side not I do find psych more interesting but I am also quite bad at writing essays Please let me know which at HL I should take and which at SL Thanks!!
  13. Hey, I just want to be sure that I'm not in over my head when I transferred from a public school to a charter, that offers IB. I usually have good motivational tendencies and coping with depression off my female monthly event, but I realized that I had not taken into account that my depression is exacerbated greatly during that period of time. I think that my emotional stress every month grants me a disadvantage that will not prove fruitful if I stay in the program. I do well in all of my SL courses except Biology because the teacher rushes everything, usually not telling us at the very least the core ideas we should know for our exam; which got pushed back from May to April. Will there be any repercussions if I drop out in the beginning of sophomore year? I can't drop out at the end of freshman year since I legitimately transferred in from the 3rd quarter of the 2nd semester. Additionally, the transition is causing me to make up for all of the covered IB information in courses (Semester 1 and previous quarters) since my public school did not offer that kind of education.
  14. hi i have to write an ia for math sl and i wanted to model climate change. is this a suitable topic for math sl? also i need help writing it because i dont know how to go about it? like what do i do first? do i make a sine curve? the internet isnt really helping right now. can someone give me a few steps on how to model climate change? please i really need help! im very confused!
  15. Going into jr year and class choices are due in a few weeks, please respond and thank you in advance to the ppl that do What sciences should I take and at what level if I wanna go into engineering or medical. Like what would be the best base for college? Also at what level should I take math? ^ 2 HL spots and 1 SL
  16. Hey guys, I wanted to know if it is possible to take 5 HLs instead of the 4 I have been taking for the past school year. Keep in mind that mocks are in less than a month. The class I want to bring up to HL is Economics, as I think the Paper 3 will benefit me a lot as I'm a very mathematically-inclined student. So far, Paper 1s have really been giving me trouble and all my classmates say Paper 3s are much easier than Paper 1s. Thoughts? These are my classes currently: HL Math, HL Physics, HL Chem, HL Arabic B SL English LAL, Economics
  17. Hi, I'll have to decide on our ia topics by tomorrow! I came up with 2 potential ia topics but can't decide which one to do: Does my city fit the multi-nuclei model? What factors affect the sphere of influence of the local supermarket/store? With the 1st one I'll need to find certain features in the, say 5-6, potential commercial centers in my city, and use the definitions to prove that they are indeed CBDs, and then piece them together. There're a few classmates with similar topics and we're supposed to go in groups, but still it might be pretty tough fieldwork? With the latter I'll first measure the sphere of influence, and then come up with affecting factors, like the types of goods they sell. Problem is, the effect of sth on sth is usually pretty relative, means there has to be a range of variables? Like I need to go from the grocery to the supermarket and to a department store? That would be too much for 2500 words. Has anyone done similar topics before? Any tips on that? Which one should I do??? Thanks a lot.
  18. What kind of effect does legislation have on a negative externality of consumption diagram? Do production costs increase and thus supply shifts to the left? Or does demand decrease? Or does it depend on the context and both could happen?
  19. I have my Physics exam tomorrow and I have a few questions in various chapters. Measurements and uncertainties: If in a calculation, I find the answer to be 500, but the numbers that I used all have 3 significant figures, would I be able to give the answer as 500? Does that have 3 significant figures? Or would the answer be 5 x 102 ? When finding the absolute uncertainty with the percentage or maximum/minimum method, what are some rules that apply here? In my notes I wrote down that if there is addition or subtraction in the original equation, then I must add the absolute uncertainties. But when there is multiplication, division or indices, then I must add the percentage uncertainties. Is this correct? Kinematics: I'm really confused about a question in a Paper 1. "A constant horizontal force FA is applied to a block m1. Block m1 is in contact with a separate block m2. The blocks remain in contact as they accelerate along a horizontal frictionless surface. m1 has a greater mass than m2. Air resistance is negligible. Which statement is correct?" So I picked D which was "The force that m1 exerts on m2 is equal to F", but I was wrong and the actual answer was B "The force that m1 exerts on m2 is less than F". Why is that? Thermal physics: I would appreciate any common examples/questions involving the method of mixtures, since I haven't succeeded in solving one yet. By method of mixtures, I mean mcΔθ = mLf + mcΔθ. Would this equation work in every situation or should I be careful? Circular motion and gravitation: For g = F/m, if you have a satellite orbiting a planet, is 'm' the mass of the satellite or the planet? For tanθ = v2/Rg, what does 'R' represent? Is it the normal force or the molar gas constant? Also, when you write ' -g', does that equal -9.81 ms-2 or +9.81 ms-2 ? General: Does uppercase P stand for power and lowercase p stand for pressure? Also, how should I approach ratio questions?? I sometimes get them right but sometimes not. What should I start with?

For my MLI, is it okay if I pick songs that are from Italy and Russia, or are they too close to each other? Thanks.
  21. Hi, I was wondering whether I could use business tools in my SL Business IA that aren't in the Business Management syllabus for SL as well as HL. If necessary, the tool I intend to use is Porter's Five Forces Analysis. I do SL Business Management. Thanks :)
  22. This lab has been submitted and graded by IBO. It received a perfect score in all categories. Research Question: How does changing the angle of incidence of light affect the power output of a solar panel? Includes calculations, graphs, steps to linearize data, and a conclusion to an inconclusive lab. Good example for when you don't get your predicted results from the lab.
  23. I need some more responses for my Math IA, so I would really appreciate if you would quickly fill out my survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe7IuEph8ScgYcmxBfkcb0tid41fV1i1mycGQ-WJdw5q2s2Zw/viewform?usp=sf_link Thank you for your time!
  24. So, right now I have an assignment in history where I have to write about Friedrich W. Foersters "Europe and The German Question", and now I came to a part where it says "Limitation of content" and idk what I have to write there. I tried to find some answers, for it. But there's nothing.
  25. I need help. I am just about finished with my Director's Notebook for theatre but I don't know how to conclude it. Do I just leave it without a conclusion and end it with photocopies of the script I'm using? What do I do? The same goes for the Collaborative. How to do I conclude my process portfolio for that? I am confusion.
