  1. (sorry if this is in the wrong forum) How exactly will you go about doing programming/web-programming for CAS? What exactly do you have to program, and how can it count of CAS? Thanks
  2. Hello IB Survival, I am a Junior in IB, and i'm currently working on a game for the iOS devices. Im using objective-c in XCODE to make the game, pure apple code from pure scratch. Its a new skill that i learned, and im working collaboratively with a friend. I can definitely reflect many hours on this project, and making it fit into CAS is no problem. HOWEVER, after working so hard on the game and realizing its potential, me and my partner decided to make the game have advertisements, for which we would receive payment depending on user impressions. I couldn't find a definite answer online, nor have i asked my CAS coordinator, but does anybody know whether i can fit this into CAS if i would receive payment? You can technically call this a business startup, but its only technical since i am under 18. Thanks for any answers in advance...
  3. Hi everyone, I want to use programming as my CAS project with the end goal to be a fully functioning mobile app or website. The problem that I have with this is that I'm unsure of how exactly I can prove the amount of time that I will be spending on the activity as I won't have someone to supervise me when I'm doing the work. In all the submission forms it says that a supervisor is required, is there any way to get around this, like show them another form of evidence of my work? Also please let me know if there are other ways to show you've done CAS hours without a supervisor, for example if I go on a 10k run and I want to use it as my CAS hours. Any help is appreciated, Cheers
  4. Hey, I realised that the thread "Other subjects" isn't quite organised.. Especially for Computer subjects (ITGS, Computer sciences, programming etc..) Wouldn't it be better for people who take those subjects to have their own section just like Math, the sciences and humanities? I think it would help navigate through the forum way more easily
  5. 'An extended essay in computer science provides students with an opportunity to investigate a particular aspect of computing and its implications for society and the world. Within this context, they can research the latestdevelopments and future possibilities in a subject that changes with increasing speed and is continually breakingnew barriers. There are many possible areas to be explored, each with a wealth of topics: advances in hardware andsoftware development, comparison of the efficiency of algorithms designed to speed up data transmission or toencrypt data, network systems, computer control systems and so on.' That's the specification for the EE question, and here's mines: Is Programming an Art, a Science, or Both? Does that work? I know I can write alot about it, but I don't know if it's too Theory of Knowledgeish. In the actual essay, I will be using alot of programming terminology, and my supervisor said it was good, so any feedback is greatly appretiated, Thank you.
  6. So for a long time now, I've had this idea for a unique puzzle game (around 10 years). Before, I started learning how to program in Objective-C on my own, but eventually had no time to continue, and forgot how. Anyways, I'm looking for a programmer and perhaps graphics design (Android and iOS) that could propel this idea forward, + for CAS, + we can make money! I can guarantee that the idea for this game is pretty neat, and with effort and commitment, will be successful. The game itself and the graphics are pretty basic, so you don't need to be an expert to program or design it. If interested, add me on Facebook: Mit Svn. It would be a great experience!

    ITGS IA Query

Hi there, I'm trying to make an Application for Kindergarten to 1st (Maybe 2nd) Grade students on the Android Systems. It mainly deals with basic counting, reading, sentence formation and nursery rhymes which the parents can give the child when he has the phone. I've interviewed the teachers of the PYP Section (My Clients) about their preferences in the app I'm pretty sure it covers all the bases of the ITGS IA (Client, Original Software). I still have doubts about this, I don't know why, the teacher said it was pretty original and good, but somehow I have this nagging feeling. Anyone think something is missing here?
  9. Hey guys! I spent a lot of this summer developing a personal website for myself. It hosts some computer games I’ve developed as well as some other programming projects I have done as well as blog articles. The website is: www.clintonmorrison.com You can play the games I created at: www.clintonmorrison.com/games.html What do you think of the design and layout of the site? Is there anything about the site I should change? Also, if you try one of the games I made let me know what you think of it! Thank you!
