  1. Hello! I start grade 11 this fall, and i wish to study International Law in university. What subjects should I take? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi! I have a problem... I'm a junior and I just started IB in August and now its September and I am kind of regretting my decisions. I am currently taking: HL Math HL Chem HL Bio SL Korean SL ESS SL Lang & Lit Currently, I am getting all 6s for my SLs but My HL grades are nearly failing and I am not very much satisfied. I always sleep late (like 3 am - 2 hours of sleep most of the time) because of work (I know I just started IB) and I don't think I can keep up with this until next year. My mom said I should drop all my HLs to SLs and do IB certificate instead of Diploma. I told my friends about this and they freaked out and told me that I should just do Diploma. Honestly, I feel like it would be awesome if I drop my HLs to SLs because I absolutely hate Chem HL. I'm okay with Math and I love Bio tho...but because I have the 3 most rigorous subjects, I can't focus on my SLs and my Bio HL and so my grades are not good...and my health is deteriorating (getting sick every 3 weeks even if I take vitamins) What should I do? Btw the university I want to go to is Korea (SKY) but they don't have much information about the requirements for IB. And I think they care more about the grades...If anyone knows the requirements...of whether grades is much important than which subjects or program I take...please tell me... Thanks, I hope you help me with this before it's too late.
  3. Firstly, I am aware there are a lot of similar posts around this time round, so thanks for all your time! Current choices: HL: SL: History English Lit A Biology Chinese A Chemistry Maths So I am currently studying in the UK and I'm from Hong Kong hence ChineseSL. I will be taking my IGCSEs soon and really need to make my mind up on my sixth form choices. My school provides both A Levels and IB, I am fairly sure that I will be doing IB but here comes my problems: 1. I am aiming for PPE / History and Economics at Oxford, the Uni Page does say the bare minimum is Maths SL but from what I've read it seems I might be at a disadvantage if I opt for it. I am confident for an A* for Maths GCSE and am currently studying FSMQ as well. However my maths teacher did suggest that Maths HL might be too much for me. So should I try maths HL? 2. Should I do Economics HL instead of one of the sciences despite having not done GCSE Economics before? Would it help for PPE/ History and Economics? Any suggestions addressing the questions or my subject choices are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Hi Guys, So I have already chosen my research question, "How does each character's physical form and characteristics affect their social status' in Commedia D'el Arte?" at this point, but I am still thinking about what other theater topics I could possibly do. Any ideas and tips? Thank you!
  5. Hii! I know this is a super general question but I'm in the middle of looking at different uni's. I'm interested in English, but I have nooo idea how to choose the right one since they all offer it. I'm in my first year of the IB program so I still have some time but I really would like to get the best idea of where I can go and then get into said university, so I want to be prepared!! My dream would be Harvard or Oxbridge... Thankyouu!
  6. Hey guys, I've done one year of French at home with a tutor. My grammar is decent, though I'm only breaching an intermediate skill level at the moment, vocabulary pretty basic, though I'm good at memorising new words... etc. I'll be taking formal French classes at my country's Alliance Française soon as well. I'm quite self-motivated to learn, following several guidebooks, French learning communities on the Internet, Duolingo and all that jazz at the moment. All this accounted for, would I be able to study French at a second language level at an IBDP school? I'm not great at conversational French at the moment, but I have 6 months till I begin the programme. I have plenty of time to work on it. So what do you guys think? Is there some kind of placement test to see what level I'm at? Is there anyway to check all this online? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
