Hi, I am an 8th grader and I have been planning to go into the IB program once I am a junior. At the high school I am going to go, you are required to be in the Pre-IB/ Scholars program to register into the actual IBDP. A lot of my friends have told me not to and that I will have no social life if I do this. However, I knew someone who did the IBDP while playing basketball and working. I would like to know if it is really as burdening as people make it sound. (I know it is different for everyone depending on personal choices) I would also like to know what subjects would be best for me to take. These are the classes I would like to take: - English SL - Math HL - Spanish SL - Biology HL - Chemistry HL - History HL +TOK However my school only offers some of these subjects in HL/SL. If I talk to a coordinator, is it possible to change this? English is only offered in HL, Chemistry is only offered in SL, and History is only offered in HL. I would really like to pursue biomedical engineering in college. Would this be the best subjects for me? Thank you so much in advance for any answers and advice. Sorry it’s a lot to read!
Hi guys, So I'll be giving my exams this May and, I've taken Chemistry HL .Now, the problem i have is that, I haven't been doing well in chemistry.Constanlt getting a 4 or a 5 has really made me doubtful of getting a 7.I have studied all the chapters thoroughly and I've noticed that the problem usually lies in the exam.I tend to get nervous and then blankout. In addition, I alos tend to write anwers that are not according to the marking scheme. If anybody has any tips on how I could bring my marks to a 7 or , maybe even a 6 I would be really grateful.
If my lab report is about the effect of the change of the area of the hole at the bottom of a can on the rate of water flow which is my dependent and which is my independent variables? And what would my Investigation question be?
Hello everyone Just seeking some opinions today ~ I am currently debating by IB subject combo for next year. There are many things about college applications that I am unaware of so I would really appreciate advice from others. I always wanted to go into Engineering or Medicine overseas in Europe (Uk) or Engineering at Mcgill . The problem is, for Medicine they require Chem HL which my school does not offer. The courses I have selected are: IB English Literature HL IB History HL IB Physics HL IB Mathematics HL IB French B SL IB Chemistry SL + taking Bio 11/12 in summer school what I am thinking of switching into is: IB English Literature HL IB Biology HL IB Physics HL IB Mathematics HL IB French B SL IB Economics SL + taking Chem 11/12 in summer school The major difference would be switching from Chem SL to Bio HL and from History HL to Economics SL No matter what science I choose however I will be fulfilling the third science in summer school. My rationale is that it is better to take 2 sciences at HL if I want to go into sciences. The question is which of the above options is more suitable for getting me into engineering/medicine programs while keeping my options open Well thanks for reading
