  3. So it goes like this, I had my IB examination due in May and I got my result on 6th of July. Before IB exams begun, I had already filled the form in order for my result to reach the university I had applied to, I could even see the name of the University on one of the tabs where it showed the list of universities that will be getting my result, however, here is the catch its almost 20 days later now and still my result didn't reach the university. If my result doesn't reach then the university can't process my fee bill and the last date of paying the fee bill is 4th of August which is pretty close. I just wanted to know if IB generally delay's this much as it's really getting me freaked out now and if yes then when should I expect it to be delivered if anyone knows? Thank you in advance
  4. What is the best way to answer a 'how and why' literature question? Obviously, the how will focus more on the literature aspect and why will be more about context. Do I work on both aspects together, or separately?
  5. Hey guys, help me!! HOW DO YOU STOP PROCRASTINATION?? I'm a really, really serious procrastinator and it's extremely harmful. Anyone is/was a procrastinator and have any tips to stop being soo lazy?
  6. Hey guys, My school is terrible at explaining the way CAS works, and I'll be starting IB this year (in summer at the moment). I have heard that in order to "fulfill" CAS, you basically have to tick off objectives, which are given by the school and vary by institution? Can someone give me a basic explanation on how CAS works, and how not to fail it? Sorry for being a noob, Thanks!
  7. Just wondering, would this count as a relevant CAS activity/Is it relevant for CAS hours?
  8. Hey all. Im currently in my first year in DP, and will be testing in Music SL in a couple months. For my IA I am doing solo performance on the Violin (Canzonetta, Summer from Four Seasons) and Piano (moonlight sonata first movement). I will be recording my songs live in a week, and I am getting a little nervous on how strict the IB Music examiners are when it comes to the solo performance. Music is really subjective, and I'm worried that the examiner I get will be really strict. The criteria I am worried about is C and D (communication, and understanding of style), because I don't really know how it's possible to grade someone on how they understand the style of music... Also if there are a couple of wrong notes here and there, will that lower my score down to mediocore or poor? We're still high schoolers not professional musicians, so in general are the examiners really strict? Thanks to all who answer!
  9. Hi everyone, Im really struggling on how to cite and reference my work in my Business IA. I got all of my information from my dad who already has all of the SWOT for the possible expansion locations of a few factories. How do I cite this in my IA? IM REALLY STRUGGLING ANY HELP WOULD BE REALLY REALLY APPRECIATED!!! THANKS GUYS
  10. Hi Guys I will take visual arts SL in august when my session starts and right now i am free so if i could get the syllabus for visual arts 2016, I could start practising and learning. If any one knows the syllabus that will be a great help.
  11. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me clarify how to achieve full marks in Criterion C of the TOK Presentation. What I am really asking is how are we supposed to demonstrate the significance of the topic? Can anyone give an example of how to demonstrate significance of a topic? For those who have already had their presentations, and maybe gotten a good mark, how did you score in Criterion C and what did you do to achieve this? Thank you PS: This is what is needed to get a 5 in Knower's Perspective (Criterion C): The presentation, in its distinctively personal use of arguments and examples or otherwise, showed clear personal involvement and fully demonstrated the significance of the topic
  12. Okay so basically, here is my problem: I am no protégé scientist, I detest math, History bores me like no other and my liberal art/cultural interests are next to nothing. Basically I dabble. I like to learn, but as soon as I begin one topic, I become enthralled by another. I am never able to set myself on a course, stay with it, and immerse myself in the topic. The only topic that truly interests me – and that I am somewhat good at – is writing. (I also like computer programming but just for the fact that it sounds cool - I'm at a loss when it comes to actually learning and implementing the techniques) __________________________ I am just asking for an array of Essay topics to choose from. I have scoured this site and made no headway in choosing the topic for my EE (furthermore, I have sat, dumbfounded, for nearly 2 months trying to figure out what I want to do.) I believe it would be extremely beneficial for a majority of students who visit this site, not to mention me, and fail to find the topic that will allow them to complete this titan of a diploma, while utilizing it in a positive way to enhance their own lives. Pardon me if this post is not pursuant to the guidelines outlined in the multiple different posts, however, I truly feel like a thread of random, wishy-washy, chaotic ideas could do a great deal to clear up the confusion surrounding ones choice for their Extended Essay topic.
  13. For my mocks, all I ever really did to study for paper 1 was play videogames and eat cheetos. I'm predicted a 4 despite only understanding close to 5% of the vocab words (and by vocab I mean complicated words LOL) in every paper 1 I take, mostly because my paper 2 keeps pulling my grades up, but honestly I don't want to leave that up to chance if I can afford not to. Would any of you fellas know how to study for it? Or would any of you happen to have a list of the most used vocab words in paper 1 or something to that effect to help me and others study for it?
  14. I'm currently working on my visual arts extended essay and so far my main concern has been how to cite my main source. What makes me uncomfortable is that nearly all the information I intend to implement has been solely from a single documentary, as it is essentially a series of designer interviews stitched together to form the history of the Helvetica typeface. Seeing as they're interviews, I'm assuming they're all primary sources, within a documentary. So does this make the documentary a primary source? How would I go about citing material from different interviews, within the same documentary? Is it acceptable to have a large, large block of text (1000+ words) be solely derived from my main source, if it comes to that? Will I lose marks for not using physical text sources? I feel like I'm merely paraphrasing and summarizing this entire film into an argument, which I'm assuming is not what I should be doing! Many thanks in advance!
