  1. English-wise, is a campaign launched/introduced/established/etc?
  2. So basically my teacher was new to the whole IB curriculum and taught us- not the wrong stuff- but not the things I need to know for the exam... I was going over practice ones and I literally feel like I can't understand anything so I bought the oxford course companion and even that's a little vague. Not sure if I'm supposed to be in the dark about this exam or what... Can someone recommend me to resources that would actually have content relevant to the exam? Is there certain vocab I have to know???? Grammar?! Plz help
  3. Hi guys, I currently have a 6 from German B SL. My Paper 2's are usually moving around 20 to 22 points out of 25, so basically a 6, however my huge weakness is the Paper 1, which I sometimes even get a 4 on. I have a question. I cannot seem to understand how I can prepare or improve my skills in the Paper 1's, do you guys have any special techniques or any tips? My MYP German teacher was completely useless and I feel I am catching up everything in these two years. I am graduating soon, so any feedback would be appreacited. By the way, I have a lot of vocabulary papers, concerning Grammar as well. Thanks for your help, any feedback or help appreciated.
  4. Hey, I'm doing English Lang/Lit (former a2, I guess) and from the formal point of view, the course is for native speakers. As I'm not one of them (meaning native speakers), I've spotted that sometimes i do have some 'gaps' in vocabulary. Could you recommend me a tv series or a book which uses very sophisticated language + idioms (Californication doesn't make it ) to use both in life and school? Thanks a lot! :))
  5. Contains words that are most likely to be seen in the SAT exam for vocabulary.
  6. Hi guys! I'm currently getting 6s and 7s in English B HL but I want to make sure that I will get a 7 on exam and I know this can be achieved by simply improving my vocabulary since I don't have any problems with speaking or writing in English. It's just that there are some words that I don't understand so I sometimes lose points on practice papers. So my questions is: do you know some good methods of improving one's vocabulary in English at a fast pace (since I don't have much time left )? Do you think that reading in English is enough? If yes, what should I read? There are many native English speaker here so perhaps someone will be able to help me. Thanks in advance!
  7. Here are some vocabulary words that I picked up from past papers and elsewhere and seem to be good to know.
  8. Hey! So I was thinking, one of the best ways to like improve your writing and essays is by increasing your vocabulary. But it's so tots boring to read thesauruses or just slowly pick up words. So I thought maybe we could daily/weekly/whenever post a new and interesting word we came across with a basic definition/synonyms and maybe it's application in a sentence? That way everyone learns something!! I'll start, my word of the day: Word: Defenestration; to defenestrate Definition: The action of throwing someone or something out of the window. Example: If I hear Mirrors by Justin Timberlake one more time on the radio, I'm going to defenestrate the damn thing!
  9. Hi is there any lists of vocabulary that has most of the vocab we will need to take the exam successfully? I really need to improve my own vocabulary and don't really want to learn anything that is not going to be needed If there is no list then does anyone have any ideas on topics you need to know? Thanks in advanced!
  10. This file is probably available for free elsewhere, but it's extremely useful. It's a collection of basic vocabulary that will not only help French Ab Initio students, but should also help French B students who're a little shaky with their basics. What are most useful (in my opinion) are the tables that teach one how to convert common English words to French and vice versa
