World Lit Question

Try to think aoout similarities and differences between the books. Do they have a theme/motive/technique/description/symbol/literary feature/profession/scene in common? There are plenty of things to compare in books. Some topics in my year was the function of servants in the books, the reason for mothers to behave badly towards their children, the role of women, reactions on being abandoned, reactions on seeing their lost love again, the portrayal of misery, etc, etc.
