VSmithIB
Hi Guys,Im writing my IA at the moment and there is some stuff in the HL syllabus that goes really well with my project. As a SL student I was just wondering if anybody knows if there would be a problem with me using HL topics? Thanks Reply
julie-h
I had the same issue..when I asked my teacher he said that you should try stick to the SL syllabus. If you put HL content into your IA it will just be disregarded and considered as being off topic. Reply
timtamboy63
I don't think there should be, unless your topic is something that isn't covered at all by the SL syllabus. Reply
dessskris
they would indeed be very happy if you even know the HL topics, understand them and use them well in your IAs. my Economics teacher said that. to us; and thus he wanted us (SL students) to also learn the HL topics but do not use it if you do not understand it or if you are not sure whether the theory is related to your article. use it wisely, if you are sure that the theory is related to the case, use it. 1 Reply
VSmithIB
Thankyou. Yes my teacher quite often talks about hl theories in our lessons saying that they will only strengthen our answers. My project is largely based around marketing and Porter's five forces analysis would be a brilliant theory to use. However is it important that I make sure that weighting is on the SL topics? 1 Reply
