dubyawhy
I am considering this course:English A1 SLMath SLBiology SLHistory HLEconomics HLMandarin Chinese B HL+Psychology HLI will be trying to take up 4 HLs when IB starts. I should be taking Chinese A2, because I am a fluent speaker, but my school doesn't offer it. Will B HL be as hard? Will I get royally screwed by the extra HL? Should I take Psychology in SL instead? Julie
For a while, I had 4 HLs and 7 IB subjects, and yes, in my personal opinion- you will get screwed. honestly, if you want to have 4HLs, go ahead and try it, but having a 7th IB subject on top of that is not a good idea. My suggestion would be to drop one of the SLs (if you can and still stay on the Diploma programme) and just have 4HLs and 2 SLs, or another variation would be to put Psychology as a SL subject and have 4HLs and 3SLs. Did I make any sense? But hey, some people couls maybe handle 4 HLs and 7 IB subjects unlike me. Reply
JustAnotherAsian
taking 7 subjects is already screwing yourself over, so yeah just take SL if you absolutely want the 7th subject Reply
Daedalus
It's doable. Try it out, switch to sl if it doesn't work. Unis won't appreciate it much though sad to say. Reply
chrypton
Do yourself a favor and pick 6 subjects with 3 HL, like the rest of us Reply
