Artoth
I have design, in it I check the influence of initial temperature on rate of reaction by measuring change in pressure from reaction of metal with non organic acid. It was marked 6/6 (although when it will be sent to moderators it will be marked maximum 5/6 as I know it will be marked by them). Can they take even more point if they'll think the idea is too simple and the result is obvious?Oh, right, I'm on Chemistry HL ; d Edited March 3, 2011 by Artoth Reply
kiwi.at.heart
As far as I know, as long as it involves processes to a high school level then it should be fine. The thing is, all the pracs have to be capable to be done within a school lab with school lab equipment, which usually means whatever happens can be explained pretty easily by theory. Also, what makes you certain you will go down to 5/6. Yes, being moderated down in Chemistry IAs is common, but if you have fufilled the criteria properly, there is no reason why you definetly will. Artoth
So, do you think it can be used in my IA grades? It would mean that I don't have to do new one, which would be a relief. Reply
dessskris
why not? The simplicity or complexity of the experiment is not going to be graded. So you can use this for formal assessment Reply
