Candidate 2011
Hey guys,For group four my group and I have decided to carry out our experiment regarding toothpaste. The chemistry and biology part is pretty much covered, but the physics section is a little more difficult (when choosing a question that is), so does anyone have any suggestions. We were thinking the effect of force at which someone brushes their teeth, does it help remove sufficient bacteria and plaque and all... something along those linesAny help would be much appreciated Reply

TurtleR
I never took physics so I'm not sure how I can really help, but I remember my dentist once saying that a lot of people brush their teeth incorrectly by simply going from side to side, when really you're supposed to be brushing up and down, while holding the toothbrush at an angle. This helps remove more plaque. Also, you have to include the gums in your brushing. Reply
Expired Manwich of Doom
What is your chemistry and biology aspect?????Likely something about the effects of the alkaline nature of toothpaste for chemistry, and bacterial growth for biology.
