coookies
Hi there just wondering, can someone help on how to plot the roots on argand diagram and also with the autograph software, thanks Reply
charis555
How exactly can I proceed with the last two bullet points? I mean how should I prove my results for z^n=a+bi and to what extent should I talk about the case when the modulus is not one? It is urgent, mine is due half a day so please respond fast if you can do so. Reply
nudie
HiI would like some hints from someone who really knows whats required in this IA, and has at least solved for every bullet point, realising the relevance of every bullet point from an "investigation" perspective. It is regarding part A. I have arrived at a formula for finding the distance between any given root to any given root in the complex plane, in terms of n and k, where k is the number of points that our second point is away from our first point. I am very sure that it works because it was found completely analytically. Now, is this our conjecture, or just a tool? Because I can see how a conjecture should be something more along the lines of a sentence, or some general statement. Maybe something like "the value of n, when expressing all roots in the complex plane, will form an n-sided polygon with equal sides".If this post is giving away too much about the solutions, I'm sorry Edited November 11, 2012 by nudie Reply
inHUMANp0wer
I am having trouble with coming up with a conjecture. I have worked out so far a general formula for the each n term but i dont know how to combine to one formula. Any help would be appreciatedthanks Reply
Zostale
Looks like factorization actually has something to do with the product of the line segments.http://www.cut-the-knot.org/arithmet...shtml#Solution 1 Reply
Zostale
http://polymathemati....lest_math.htmlthis could be helpful as well.P.S the portfolio ain't so easy as it seems sometimes...its in real depth guys if you know what i mean. Some parts are only for the geniuses to explore. Edited November 17, 2012 by zostale 1 Reply
Zostale
Hey i don't very much get the last point of the second part- when modulus of a+ib is not equal to one. Is it a limitation to the already generalized formula ? Reply
