loser123726
I am asked to hand in a final EE draft in two and half months time!!! I have already looked at the IB offical pdf related to extended essays. At this stage, I am thinking of doing an English A2 essay and it is going to be socio-cultural based. I am considering to talk about things that cause Hong Kong students' approach to language studies. I have already thought of some causes, like the implementation of colonial education during the British rule, education reforms in Hong Kong, the uprise of China etc, and I am going to do surveys in searching the students' approach. But I am struggling to formulate a topic for the essay. I really wanna get rid of this essay ASAP, plz help !! Any solutions and ideas? Reply
deissi
Well, I'd first of all like to point out that you have to consider the students' approach to english, since your subject is English A2. If you consider other languages you'll be severely marked down. You could try a topic like this:To what extent do X and Y and Z affect students' approach to English studies in a school in Hong Kong? loser123726
I heard of people saying English A2 EEs are marked based on the English B critirea. Will this be the case for my A2 EE? Reply
deissi
The criteria is the same for all Group 2 subjects, which means both language B and A2. However, I believe that A2 is graded more strictly in terms of use of language and grammar. Don't quote me on that, though. Reply
