What does Bsc (hons) mean exaclty?

If I'm correct, BSc degrees are pass/fail whereas BSc (Hons) degrees are graded - so you can get a 1st, 2:1, 2:2, 3rd etc. It's an advantage to have a graded degree if you can get a good degree, especially a 2:1 or a 1st. This is in the UK.
