Jyrgen
Hello all,I was thinking of how some crazy people, some murderers etc., claim that they were inspired by a certain piece of art, like a rock album or a book. For example if I'm right, the Columbine high school shooters were avid fans of industrial bands such as Rammstein, KMFDM and NIN.So I thought, would it be a good TOK presentation idea to examine the ethics of creating dark pieces of art that might lead to people committing terrible crime? To what degree is the artist responsible for that? I already have several arguments representing different viewpoints.I think I could build a decent presentation from this. Need to formulate a better question/title first though, but I think I have a good topic here. What do you think? I'm in no hurry with this yet, but if I just stumbled upon a topic that would be great. Sandwich
It's an interesting topic, but unfortunately nothing to do with Theory of Knowledge A good TOK presentation will have an instantly obvious connection to exploring the ways of knowing. You probably can change this topic into one that has something to do with the ways of knowing, but you'll need to change it. Ethical responsibility isn't the way to go. You can definitely look at ways of knowing and art, you just need to think of the context. Reply
